31 weeker and doc update

How far along? 31 weeks

How big is baby? Average size: about 4 oranges.  So over 3lbs.

Average Length: about 16 in head to heel.  Sheesh!

What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "Your unborn baby's lungs continue to mature. As her lungs become more developed, the chances of her surviving if born prematurely increase. Her skin, which has been wrinkled, now becomes pink and smooth as fat cells fill out her body.
Baby knows your voice. Singing to her, talking to her, and telling her all about the world she'll be joining soon is a great way for you and your partner to bond with Baby—and each other!

Your baby's fingernails have grown and she may even need a manicure after she's born. "

What about mama? We had our 31 week doc appt yesterday.
Weight: up .75lb.  It has slowed down for sure.  That is 1.5lb gain in 4 weeks.
Blood Pressure: perfect at 116/76
Ava's heartbeat: has slowed to 130 (it has been ~140)  According to Clint, that is supposed to happen.
Pee in a cup: No news is good news.  Although, it is getting harder to catch the pee in the cup because my belly is in the way.  I giggle every time.
Fungal Height: right on 31 weeks
Ava's position:  head down position already.

Symptoms: I had my 1st "uncomfortable" day yesterday.  My ankles are starting to ache and I think she is using my bladder as a trampoline.

Maternity clothes: No doubt about that!!!

Sleep: Sleeping, but dreaming a lot!!!  And weird dreams to boot.

Best moment last week? Our 1st shower.

Movement: Crazy how much she moves.  She is getting on a usual pattern.

Cravings: Um.  Sadly, nothing!

Belly Button in or out: It makes me wonder how deep that thing is!

What I miss? Clint started singing "I want my body back, body back, body back.  Mama's so uncomfortable!"  (I don't know if y'all remember but this is to the tune Of the CHILI's Baby Back Ribs commercial jingle.  He has no idea how right he is in that diddy.

What I am looking forward to: getting our boat out on the lake this weekend!  I love the lake and sun.  Give me a book and I can lay there all day long.  Although, I think this summer I will be floating in the water more.
Milestones: Single digit weeks left.

How is daddy? He loves "stalking" the registry and getting presents for Ava.  He is too cute!!

1st Shower

Hey lovies and new lovies from ICLW!  I hope your weekend is going great.  Yesterday, we had a family shower/cookout with my mom's side of the family.  This is the 1st of 3 showers.  We are very lucky and very appreciative of the people in our lives that want to do this for us and our little bun in the oven.  We had a lot of fun.  We played Nursery Rhyme Jeopardy (guys vs. girls).  Guys won.  I seriously need to start reading Nursery Rhymes.  Then we played who could drink the most from the bottle in 2 min. Hilarious.

The shower was given by my cousins' wives and they did a great job!  Instead of cards, everyone was asked to bring a book for Ava's library.  This is so exciting for me because I LOVE to read!  I AWAYS have a book with me.  Even if I am standing in line somewhere I will get a page or two read.  She got some oldies, but goodies and some that are new to us.
(PSA:  I found out yesterday that Dolly Parton, yes Dolly, has a program that you can sign your child up to recieve a new book every month until they start kindergarten.  Here is the link.)  We got a lot of so cute outfits and my mom and dad brought a pack of diapers.  What's so great about that?  Well, my parents have been buying a a pack of diapers for EVERY WEEK we have been pregnant.  Yes, you read that right, we already have 30 weeks worth of diapers.

Now I will leave you with some pictures.

30 weeks, 3 days

Shower hosts.

Adorable cake with booties and safety pins.

Me and my handsome and somewhat goofy husband.

Chugging from the [baby] Bottle!

One of our many books.

Clint likes interactive books.

We got a cute neck rest for her head in the carseat.  It's a pink dog. (I'm excited, apparently!)

Purple dresses with a sweet cardigan!

Great aunt and 2nd cousin.  There are 5 generations on my Great Aunt's side of her family.  That's amazing to me.

Me and Mr. Wonderful!

30?? Oh wow

How far along? 30 weeks.  There are just 70 days until her due date!!  Crazy.

How big is baby? Average size: A little over 3lbs.
Average Length: about 15 3/4 inches, head to heel

What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "Your baby's face looks much like it will when she's born. She still needs to fill out more to get the characteristic chubby infant cheeks, but she's on her way. She can move her head, open her eyes, and make breathing movements through her open nostrils (although no air comes in). What is going on with mama? Babyzone.com says it CORRECTLY!!  "A few more weeks to go! Your baby weight is starting to impact your lifestyle. Bending over is tricky if not impossible. And tying your shoes? Forget about it. As your baby-to-be crowds your internal organs you may experience more heartburn, indigestion, and flatulence. Breathing may be more difficult as your lungs have less room to expand."  CAN I GET AN AMEN?!!!

Symptoms: Right now websites say I should be having no sleep, no problems here.  Swelling, no problem here.  Potty breaks,   some days I feel like I should take my laptop in the bathroom to work.  No clothes that fit, some things I have my belly creeps out at the bottom.

Maternity clothes: My t-shirts are about a day away from being retired!

Sleep: Good actually.  I have been sleeping heavy and longer than normal.

Best moment last week? We got Ava's bedding delivered to us!!

Movement: Crazy!  I got my first rib kid last night.  It didn't hurt but it was a little uncomfortable!

Cravings: No cravings, although I have been digging some easy no prep foods likfe Clif bars.

Belly Button in or out: Still in there.

What I miss? Not getting out of breath so easily.

What I am looking forward to: 1st shower Saturday.

Milestones: 30 weeks!

How is daddy? Amazing and shows me love and affection to make me feel so special these days!

It is time.

It is time to discuss things that have gotten harder to do.  Yes, there are certain things that you wouldn't think would be a change to your routine, but oh sister you just don't know!

Things that change when you are pregnant:
1.  Painting your toenails.  Yep, there is no more bringing your foot up on the chair with you to put bright colors on the toesies.  I know have to put my foot up on something and slowly attempt to be neat and not get HOT PINK polish on my entire toe.
2.  Shaving your legs and trimming the girl parts.  Oh sweet mary!  You have to become creative in this normal act.  The belly gets in the way when you bend over to shave and when you attempt to "trim" well, hell let's face it, you can't even see what you are doing unless you shift to one side or go from memory!
3. Your best model walk on the catwalk.  You can throw that walk to the birds.  It comes a time when you wake up and your husbands says you are waddling!!  GASP!  When did that happen??
4. An eating place and chafing! Of course, I knew my legs were getting bigger because they are touching when I walk now. (I haven't had this issue in a while!)  And about 20 times per day I am pulling my shorts out from some hidden place that EATS your shorts and it is not fun!
5. Crossing your legs. Because my (and maybe your) legs are kissing at the top, sitting with your legs crossed is getting to where it is not going to happen much longer.  My short little legs, are running out of landing area for my other leg to rest on.
6. (THIS HASN'T HAPPENED TO US, THANK GOD!!)  Sex!   So I hear, that sex becomes uncomfortable.  We are not there and I pray we don't get there, there are some women that the belly-o gets in the way and makes getting it on a little difficult to where they forfeit the fun.  (In my best Team Captain voice) "we will not forfeit!"  We have just learned that creativity is AWESOME!!  Don't give up and give in to defeat, just find a better way!  That's my advice at least!

There ya have it.  These are the ones that have been on the forefront of my mind lately. Please feel free to share!!  I hope I am not the only one that this is happening to!
I hope your Monday has been as good as a Monday can get!!

29 and counting!

How far along? 29 weeks

How big is baby? Average size  as big as a butternut squash, weightwise -- about 2 1/2 pounds
Average Length: a tad over 15 inches, head to heel (no wonder I can feel her on both sides of my belly)

What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "Your baby is filling out this week. She's adding fat to insulate her body for the day she leaves her cozy home. You can probably distinguish between feet and hands, head and bottom when your baby-to-be moves inside you. She takes practice breaths but won't breathe air until delivery. What is going on with mama?  Waddling has become my typical gait.  Call me Dafney the Duck!  I am feeling great though.  I am up to  doing 45-60 on the Arc Trainer.  I want to do as much as I can while I feel great an energized.  There will come a time when I won't be able to eve step up on the Arc Trainer.  Growing steadily and everything is on schedule.

Your baby's growth has begun to slow down now, but she will still gain approximately four pounds between now and birth. If she were born now, she would be able to breathe, but might tire easily and need assistance. Her little eyes are sensitive to light.

Symptoms: I have been getting slight boughts of nausea here recently.  That is normal apparently, I just hoped it wouldn't happen to me.

Maternity clothes: Yes please.

Sleep: Comes and goes.  I have been getting really hot at night, but that is not really unusual.

Best moment last week? feeling her kickboxing skills

Movement: She is starting to to have bouts of crazy.  Sometimes I feel like she is trying to unbutton my belly button!  I am starting to tell what her butt is ( I think)  I haven't yet determined what her feet or arms feel like.

Cravings:Still really no appetite.  I asked the doctor about the lack of appetite and she said it is normal and will probably pick back up.

Belly Button in or out: We have decided that I have a deep belly button, so it will probably not become an outie, but every week I think "how deep does that thing go?"

What I miss? Last night we were looking at old pictures on our camera and looking back at my pre-pregnancy body, I felt stupid for feeling self-concious AT ALL.  My body was rocking and I will get that back and be content!!

What I am looking forward to: Our 1st shower is a May 22 ( a week from tomorrow)

Milestones: getting to 2 week appts.

How is daddy? He is wonderful at making me feel beautiful.  He will randomly make comments about the way I look.  Although, my sex drive has always been pretty high, it is such a comfort that although I am packing on Ava weight, his drive is still up there!  I am lucky on that front.  I was on a forum the other day where the couple had only had sex 3 times in like 32 weeks!!!  I gasped out loud.  SERIOUSLY???  We would go nuts.  I don't even know how we will last the technical "after the birth wait" of 6 weeks.  My guess is Baby Ava will keep us so busy and tired the 6 weeks will fly by.

2 weekers (already?)

Hey ladies!  It has been an eventful few days and am just now catching my breath.  We had a doc appt today and it was our 1st 2-week appts.  I can't believe we are now going every 2 weeks.  We met another doctor in the practice to get aquainted.  She is about our age and was so cheerful and lively.  I definately like her better than the other doctor we met in the practice.

Pee test ( I think I now can pee on command)-DONE and everything is fine and dandy.

Weight-I have gained a pound in 2 weeks and they are thrilled with that.

Fungal Height-29 weeks. Right on sched.

Blood Pressure- Excellent at 108/84 (I have always had low blood pressure.)

Heartbeat of baby girl- It fluctuated between 145-150bmp while she had the dopplar on my belly.

We go back in 2 weeks to see our regular doctor.  Stop in tomorrow for the 29 week update!!!!

12 to go!

How far along? 28 weeks

How big is baby? Average size: About 2.5lbs  (equal in weight to a Chinese cabbage)
Average Length: about 10in(crown to rump)

What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "Your unborn baby's survival rate outside the womb increases as each week passes. If he didn't open his eyes last week, chances are he'll take his first peek this week. Your baby-to-be's skeleton and muscles are maturing quickly. This week he can turn his head from side to side. What is going on in mama? Steady growth in the belly.  Everything else has seemed to stopped growing.  Thank goodness!

Most of the lanugo has disappeared at this point and your baby may have a full head of hair by now."

Symptoms: No appetite and when I do get hungry I can't eat much at all because my stomach feels like it is going to be punctured by my ribs.  That or the fact that I get bad heartburn.

Maternity clothes: No doubt!

Sleep: Most nights are pretty uncomfortable.

Best moment last week? We finished painting Ava's room!!!  Pictures to come! My parents bought the bed, mattress, and bedding.  The bedding should be here at the 1st of next week!!

Movement: I can tell she is getting stronger and stronger and the movements really make my belly move.

Cravings: None at all.

Belly Button in or out: Bless my belly button's heart.

What I miss? Seeing my girl parts (oh yes, it disappears.) and bending over comfortably to put my shoes on!

What I am looking forward to:Meeting another doc in the practice on Tuesday for our 1st 2 week appt.

Milestones:  12 weeks left!

How is daddy? He has been his great daddy self.  Making sure the painting is perfect in his baby girl's room and CAN NOT wait to put her bed together.  On a not so fun note, Clint's Nana passed away early Wednesday morning.  This is really the closest person in his life he has lost and is having an emotional time.  We will be at the funeral home all this afternoon and night and then the service is tomorrow!  If you would please be thinking about him and me to be able to comfort him in the way he needs me to comfort!

Disaster

This is what has been going on around here for the past  days.  flood of 2010.  The Cumberland River is at flood level about 50ft, they rose to about 58ish ft.

This is a video of where my gym is that I manage!!  DISASTER!

Luckily, the owners of my gym own another one in a city about 30 minutes away, so I'll be going there until we can rebuild mine!!

Not fun to be in Nashville right now!  Please keep all of the people out of homes in your thoughts and prayers.
