Without a plan I am lost!

It's Friday, weeeeee!
Another work is almost in the books.
Have you had a great and productive week?
I have been busy busy.
Ava's birthday party is tomorrow and her birthday is Sunday!
1 year old! Sheesh, lady!  Slow down!

A little recap of the past few days:
Wednesday was work. I got in a quick kettlebell workout in between patients. (Gotta use your time wisely!)
20lb KB Swings 2x20
20lb KB Single leg deadlifts 2x10/leg
17lb KB Lateral lunge into single arm shoulder press 2x10/side
17lb Russian ab twists 2x30

My traps were sorrre yesterday!
Instead of going to the gym, we decided to take Ava to my parent's pool.  I thought, "hey I can run home after." My parents live 3.8 miles or so away.  Looking at the temp and seeing it was still 96 degrees at 6pm, I decided I am not stupid and I can just not run! Best decision!

Yesterday was a busy day!!  Work, lunch meeting with the local franchise owner of the the super fun and healthy Freshii. If one is close you have to go, like NOW!!!
I made a quick trip to GNC for Fenugreek. (If you are breastfeeding or going to, check this out! It has helped me immensely!)
I had my shopping lists, coupons, and errands all laid out. Clint dropped Ava and me off at the gym while he went to get a haircut. Sidenote, I LOVE a fresh haircut on him. OMG!
He said he would text me when he got in the chair and I would have about 20 minutes after that.
EEEEEK!
I gotta get on it.
I did a tempo run of 4 miles in 34:28 min! Pretty good!
I went and did a quick rinse off and change and then we were off.
CVS.
Hobby Lobby.
Panera Bread
Walmart.
Whew.
I have a few last minute things to pick up for the party tomorrow, but in all most everything has been bought and is ready to be made or decorated.

Many pictures will be taken don't worry!
Any big plans this weekend??
Have a great day!!!

Special moment

Happy Hump day in Blogland!
How are y'all?
I didn't make it to the gym Monday night.  It was either the gym or groceries.  Plus I couldn't leave the groceries in my 102 degree Murano for an hour.  So, groceries won!
I did save $58 at Kroger though! Oh yea!

Yesterday, was my day off.  I dropped Ava off at my parent's at 6am and went for a run on their road.  They have a great road to run on.
8 miles in 1:10ish minutes.  That last mile though was a toughy.  But I was bound and determined to finish the 8 I had planned.

I went home to clean the house and shower and then went back to my parent's house to pick up my mom and Ava.  During the school year, my mom and Ava go to a Tuesday morning bible class with some ladies at church.  Yesterday, was a potluck lunch for the class and I decided to go with them.  It was a hodge podge of food of course, but it was neat to see the little older ladies doting on Ava!
After lunch, we all went on our next errand.  I had a much needed dental cleaning.  My aunt works at my dentist office and she showed Ava off at the office.  Needless to say she was very well spoiled yesterday.
When we go home Ava had a much needed nap and I devoured some peanut butter!  With more running, I crave the PB like no other.  My body seems to want fat.
Can you tell when your body needs something in the disguise of a craving?

In other news, I bet you are wondering why this post is named "Special Moment?!"

Well, this happened!

She is now mobile and everywhere.  It was a light bulb moment that she decided to leave the ottoman and toddle on by herself.  Our baby is growing up so fast!!!

Have a great day!!

Weekend recap Monday!

Monday morning, ugh!
I hope you had a great weekend!  Our's flew by of course.

Friday
When I got home from work we decided that it would be the only good time we could go out and get Ava's birthday presents.  So off to Toys R Us we went. I was worried about Ava seeing her presents( silly, I know, but I guarantee she would have knew it was for her).  Well, to our luck she fell asleep on the way to the TRU and slept the entire time during the shopping! SCORE!
Then it was off to O'Charley's to eat supper.  I gave Clint 4 supper options. Why 4?  I had coupons for those 4!!!!  Why spend full price when you don't have to right?! RIGHT!

Saturday
I got up and Clint watched Ava so I could get an hour run in before it got too hot.
I did 7 miles in 1:01!  I was pretty excited and pretty sweaty when I got back! I had to be at work by 10, but I needed to do a Publix run beforehand.  Buy 1 get 1 deals, with coupons is where it is at!
Oh and another little couponin tip....ask the store what competitor coupons they accept.  My Publix takes Kroger coupons.  I worked until about 2 and then went home to love on the family!
I was just about to put a young chicken in the oven for supper, when I got a call from my brother. He wanted us to meet him and his girlfriend at church at 6:30pm.  Ok, I guess we aren't having chicken.  I had an idea of what was going on, but didn't come out and ask.
My brother took his g/f to Chattanooga for the day and PROPOSED!  All of the fam met at church for cake and to celebrate!  I am so excited for him and M.  She is a good one I tell ya.

Sunday
Well, since I wasn't able to cook the chicken Saturday night and I was up I decided to go ahead and cook it.  Especially before it got hot.  We went to church and came home for pulled chicken sandwiches.  They were de.li.cios!
Clint went to meet some friends to play Wallyball, so Ava and I went to my parent's pool.  I got to do a little ray soaking up and reading while my sister played in the pool with Ava.  Then I took over.  She was a little raisin by the time we left.  But she had a great nap after haha!

All in all it was a great weekend that went too fast.
This week will be hectic with work, getting in my workouts, and prepping for Ava's birthday party for Saturday.  Weeeeeee!

Are you working out today?
I'll try and do some weigths at work in some spare time.  We are going to the gym after work and I hope to get at least 4 miles, if not 5 in.  Depends on how long Clint's workout is.  (I hate having him wait on me!) Any one else like that?

Did you have a great weekend?

Decision!

Happy Friday!
It has been one of those weeks where I haven't been sure what day it was!
So, the name of this post is "Decision".  Here goes the reason with a little backtrackin'.

When Ava was born, I decided I would try to breastfeed and stick it out. Even when I wanted to quit, even when my nipples felt like they would fall off, even when my boobs got hard as rocks.  I WOULD stick it out!  I did!  Has it been easy? Yes and no.  Is it a COMPLETE sacrifice? YES!, BUT it is totally and completely worth it and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I went in to breastfeeding wanting to try at least a year, but I wasn't sure that my body or Ava would be up for this, so I took it one day at a time.

Ava will be a year old on the 31st!  Yes, a year!  It has FLOWN by!  I felt like I was pregnant for 26 months, but this year of Ava's life has gone by in a blink!

My body has done wonderfully well with breastfeeding.  It has been the BEST experience for me.  I love the intimacy that comes with being able to feed my child!  I love the responsibility that comes with being able to feed my child.  Our bodies are amazing things and can do amazing things.

It has been the BEST thing I could/can do for Ava and her health and development.  She has had one cold the entire year of her life!  I wholeheartedly chalk it up to breastmilk and the amazing qualities it has.

I am a COMPLETE advocate of breastfeeding. Having said that, I KNOW that it is not for everyone.  Each mama has the right to that decision and I totally respect that!

My big decision is to keep breastfeeding after her birthday!  Yeppers, I am going to keep at it.  Ava still gets solid natural foods.  The only thing processed she gets are CHEERIOS and the OCCASIONAL lick of ice cream.  This has what has worked best for us, but especially Ava.
I am definitley stopping breastfeeding no longer that her being 18 months old or when she embarrasses me in public asking for boobage!  Which ever comes first!!!

Thoughts?  Do you think it is weird to go that long?  Would you if you could?

Speed raiser!

Hey there!
According to the calendar it is Thursday.  These days I never seem to know what day it is.  Work was busy yesterday, which I really do like!  I was able to get in a quick weights sesh in between patients.

2x10 combos using 2-15lbDBs
Squats into Shoulder press
Plie squats into upright rows
Stationary lunges with hammer curls
20 pushups.

Did the usual after work, pick up Ava, pick up Clint, go straight to the gym.  We did take a small detour to TJ Maxx to get some new ear buds so I could listen to my Pandora on my cellular device.  At the gym, Clint said he would only be about 30 min.  Okie doke, I can do 4 miles in 35. That will push me.  I increased the speed the entire 4 miles until I finished up at 9mph!  That is super fast for this 5'2 sister!  I finished the 4 miles in 34:51! Oh yea.  Take that 35 minutes!

OHHHH, I forgot to tell you.  My boss is going to pay for me to get my yoga instructor certification!  At first I was a wee bit questionable about it, BUT the longer I thought, prayed, and considered it, WHY NOT?!  It is something new, it will be challenging, another certication, PLUS it takes care of my Personal Trainer CEUs.  I say WINNING all around! What do y'all think??

The past 2 Thursdays my boss has been ok with  me coming in at 8am so I could run in the mornings.  I drop Ava off at my parent's house and run their hilly road.  Why run in the morning?
1. It is my FAVORITE time to run.  When the day is waking up and everything is calm and peaceful.
2. Before it gets too hot.  It was already 80 degrees at 6am!
3. Babysitter and I don't have to drive anywhere.
4. Place to shower after my extremely sweaty run!
I did 5 miles in 43:10!  WHO AM I???  haha who cares, right?!  I'll take the speedy improvements.
All that is left is my 50 pushups for the day.
What is your workout going to be today?

Have a great day!!

Great day minus a very bad decision!

Happy Wednesday!
I hope your week has been going smoothly so far.
As I said in Monday's post, it was Clint's birthday.  I wasn't sure if I was going to get to go to the grocery on my break, which meant no gym time.  Well, it all worked out and I got to do both.  As requested by Clint though, we held out on the birthday supper until last night.  He wanted more time to spend helping me cook and relax than us be rushed after the gym.  Fine by me birthday boy!
So, we did get to go to the gym and I cranked out 5 miles on the tread.  My headphones broke, so I didn't have any music to help me keep my rhythm, so it was a bit of a challenge, although I did have my Sony Reader to help pass the time.  Oh and I became "that girl".  I forgot to take my sparkly hoops out when I changed my clothes, so there I was sweating like a cook in hell's kitchen and I have sparkly hoops in!  SHEESH!
Yesterday, was my "day off".  Ava decided at 2am that she was having a party and invited mama. Such a sweet girl!  We played from 2am to about 4:15am and then she woke me again at 7am.  That little stinker.  But I can not imagine what she is feeling like cutting 3 teeth at once!  Yes, it has been almost a year adn we are just now getting 3 teeth!  When she goes, she goes big!
Ava and I went to Kroger and then Clint had some hours to waste and came home after a 1/2 day of work! Yippee!  No complaints here.
My plan yesterday morning was to drop Ava off at my parent's so I could do a 6am run before it could get sweltering hot outside.  Ava had other plans.  Well, she fell asleep on the way home from the grocery and Clint said, "of you want to run, you should go now."  You don't have to tell me twice.
I will NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!  What, run? No, I will not run at noon when it is 94 degrees out on a COMPLETELY empty stomach and no fluids!  WORST. DECISION. EVER!  I did do 5 miles of running/walking in 48 minutes, BUT OMG it was brutal!
That afternoon, we got Ava's little whale pool out and filled it up for her and I got in there with her and played!  It was so fun!  Thank goodness my parent's have an inground pool though! haha
After baths and a nap for Ava, supper took place!  Del.Lic.ious! I'm pretty sure Clint enjoy it! It was such a great day with Clint and Ava.
Have you had a meal that was just too good for words lately?

After work, we will go to the gym tonight.  I am hoping I can sneak in some weights at work today. I am pretty sure that will happen!

Have a great Wednesday!

Weekend recap Monday!

Hidey!
I hope you had a great weekend.  Our's was busy as usual and flew by.
Friday night was Clint's last softball games of the season before tournaments.  It was crazy hot and then it started to POUR down rain.  Thankfully, it was toward the end of his second game, but the walk to the car was a wet one! Plus, I forgot to take the dirtyyyy diaper with me that I had changed when we got to the park.  Needless to say, rain=no windows down to air out the car!

Saturday, was busy.  Gym time!  I have had sinus crud the past few days, but struggled through 5 miles on the tread and 20 minutes of sauna time while Clint played wallyball.  We were meeting Clint's dad and girlfriend at Genghis Grill at 12:30, so we had about an hour to kill.  To the mall it is.  Ava pushed her stroller the entire walk in the mall.  That is a fat for those little legs.  We tried to get her to ride in the stroller, but she was bound and determined. Lunch was great and then we hit up Maggie Moo's for ice cream. Wow, that was good.  We then went home because our daughter was a cranky pants McGee.  She has 3 teeth that have broke through and bless her heart is not her happy self, well until she gets orajel!

Sunday, was busy. Church and then lunch at my parent's house to celebrate my brother's birthday and Clint's as well.  (His is today!)  We lounged at my parent's pool for a bit and then took Ava home. There was a MUCH needed nap in her future!  We just lounged around the house and I picked up the house some.  My best friend dropped by to return some things they had borrowed and told us for Ava's birthday she wants to give us her 1 year pictures!  We were going to get her to do them for a fee. She is an amazing photographer!  But she decided she wanted to do this for us and Ava.  I was so overwhelmed, I teared up!

Today is Clint's birthday. Of course his presents are shipped but probably won't get here today, ugh!  Ava and I made him a card. She COLORED!  (It made his morning.) I made him pancakes before he left for work, which are his fave!  Tonight, I will make supper of steak(for him), salad, and baked potato.  Chocolate eclair is for dessert. Easy, but oh so good.  I had planned on running at the gym this afternoon, but I don't know if that will happen since I need to go to the grocery store and make supper and his dessert.  We shall see.  I really want to run, but you know how plans don't always work out.  I did do weights this morning.
15lb DBs-Straight leg deadlifts 2x10
15lb DBs-Bicep curls into shoulder presses 2x10
15lb DBs- Single leg deadlifts 2x10
1-15lb DB-Front raises 2x10
BW-Single leg sits to bench 2x10/leg
50 pushups.
I made a promise to myself that I would make an effort to pray each day and do 50 total pushups.  I have been praying everyday, but I have missed one day of pushups!  Pretty good so far!

How was your weekend??
Have a great day!

HI!!!!

I am alive!!
Our work has been moving buildings and setting up into a brand new building for the last few weeks and I JUST got my internet in my brand new office with WINDOWS!!  Can I tell you how wonderful it is to have windows?!?!  My day is so much more enjoyable at work since I can actually SEE what is going on outside.  I didn't realize how unhappy I was in my closet  office until I got the new one!

So I am back to blogging! YAY!!!  I wasn't even able to check my Google Reader.  I do that at work, because let's face it I just DO NOT have time when I am not at work!  I think at one point I have over 2000 unread posts!!  How overwhelming, so I did the only thing I knew I could do and feel ok with it and that was MARK AS READ!!!  I am sorry I did not read all of your posts, but I would have to read blogs constantly for DAYS just to catch up.

In other news, Ava took her 1st steps(2) at the GYM!!  I was thrilled!  SHE IS MY DAUGHTER!  Not that   I was questioning it!  I was there after all!  Clint didn't see it, he missed it by a minute, but she took 2 more for him the next day! Although, she has taken those steps, she still hasn't figured out she can do it. Oh well, I am in NO HURRY for her to start prancing around.
Prancing=mama  and daddy chasing!

My running has been pretty good with an arm workout scattered here and there.  Well this week, I decided to get back into a solid running AND weights routine.  I have been spot on all week so far and I am sore.  I have MISSED BEING SORE!
I also decided to challenge myself to do 2 things each day.
1)Pray! I have been super slacking in conversing with God.
2)50 pushups a day.  Either all at once or scattered, but 50 total.
So far so good!

How have you been?
I will get back to reading blogs and commenting today!

Have a great day!
