How far along? 27 weeks
How big is baby? Just over 2lbs now and stretches out to a little over 9 1/2 inches(crown to rump).
What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "Your baby's lungs and brain are beginning to mature. Although he'd have a good chance of survival if he were born now, he could use a few more weeks of growing. Added layers of fat are continuing to form. These layers will help your baby regulate his temperature once outside the womb and help keep him warm. During his active periods, your baby should move 10 times an hour.
What is going on in mama?Allergies are gone! Yippee skippy. I have hit a new point in this pregnancy though!!!! I will do a special post about it tomorrow.
Symptoms: My growing belly seems to be really growing all of a sudden.
Maternity clothes: Either that or Clint's shorts and tshirts. HEAVENLY!!!
Sleep: Actually sleeping pretty hard these days!
Best moment last week? Her 1st book.
Movement: OH YEAH! I tweeted earlier that she has learned to do the worm and is honing her dancing skills.
Cravings: I had a dream about Krispy Kreme donuts the other night and have been thinking about them, but have not and probably won't succumb to that craving.
Belly Button in or out: A wee bit in!
What I miss? Ab workouts!!!!
What I am looking forward to: Um.....not sure.
Milestones: 3rd trimester.
How is daddy? He has been priming and painting Baby Ava's room the past few days! What a man!
This world may be full of ups and downs, but with God, family, happiness, and health, it is such a great ride!

Doctor check-in
27 week check-up.
Urine test-CHECK
Blood Pressure-CHECK and GREAT
Weight-CHECK. GAINED 4lbs. That is typical and as my doc was looking at my chart she said, "I think you might have been a little underweight pre-pregnancy, so I'm not really worried about your weight!"
Ava's heartbeat-CHECK. 152BPM
Fungal Height-CHECK. Measuring 28 weeks. No cause for concern.
Gestational Diabetes test-CHECK. I had the FRUIT PUNCH and it was actually REALLY GOOD. I went down to the lab to get my bloodwork done 1 hour after I finished the drink. I felt kind of jittery and not "right" because of the sugar.
(results) should be in tomorrow. No news is good news though. So fingers crossed that my blood sugar is less than 140 and I'm not enemic.
Next appt-We start 2 weekers now. In 2 weeks I meet another doc from the practice to become more familiar with them all. WHO KNOWS WHO WILL ACTUALLY DELIVER BABY AVA?!!?!?!
***Please keep Clint's family in your thoughts and prayers please!! His Nana isn't expecting to last much longer. I will keep up updated on the situation.

Ava's 1st
I hope everyone's weekend has been great. Ours has been pretty good. After work, Clint and I went to McKay's, which is my FAVORITE bookstore ever. You can buy, sell, and trade all sorts of things like books, DVD's, video games, etc. I have gotten to where I go when I have books to sell back and shop while I'm there. They give you so much money in trade and it is like Monopoly money. I haven't had to actually purchase a book from there in a long time. It is the best thing ever.
Anyway, I was looking for Clint and found him in the Golden Books section looking through books for Ava. It melted my heart. He isn't that big of a reader like I am. (I never leave home without a book! Even if I am going to the grocery.) We got a few books for her and her mama =). Clint read her her 1st (in the womb) book last night. It's one of my fave's. I have such an amazing husband.
Do you remember your favorite golden book????

Pregnancy brain
Yes, I have had it for a while, Pregnancy Brain! I have become forgetful and down right goofy at times. I have locked Clint out of the house, forgot pertinent things, and yesterday I had another one.
A little background on my days. I don't have to be at the gym until 10am. Since I typically get up around 6:30am (with NO alarm) I do some housework, waste time on the computer and just piddle around the house. Wednesday was my day off and I decided to do all of the laundry, fold and put them up. Well yesterday, I had one more load that was drying so then I could fold that one and put them all up. (Insert folding here) I was going room to room putting clothes away and Daisy, our Jack Russell aka Shadow, tends to follow us around the house. I didn't think anything about it as I continued on. It was getting close to leaving, so I was shutting the doors to the other rooms of the house, getting my stuff together, and put water outside for the girl-pups in the fenced in backyard. All seems normal. Clint came and worked out and went home like usual.
Daisy tends to climb the fence and get out. (Don't worry she knows where home is and has a collar on. It is annoying though. )We thought Clint had fixed her escape route. He called when he got home to tell me that she had gotten out again because she wasn't in the backyard. He said, "well, I thought that was where she was getting out, but I guess not." Jokingly I said "maybe she is hiding in one of the back rooms. " We hung up and about 2 minutes later he calls back asking when the pregnancy brain goes away. I had no idea what he was talking about!! He said, "Daisy was shut up in the back bedroom. " I HAD SHUT HER IN!!! I just assumed she was outside. She never goes in there without one of us, nor does she hang out in there. The poor little booger had been in that room all day!!! Clint said she ran outside and peed for about 30seconds. All I could do was laugh!! I had no idea!!! I hope this forgetful, goofiness goes away after Baby girl Ava gets here!!! SHEESH!! If you can't laugh at yourself right?!?!
Have a great FRIDAY!!!

Last week of 2nd trimester!!
Hi!! For all the new and returning ICLW'ers, welcome to my internet home. We are expecting a baby girl at the end of July and are counting down the weeks until we see her sweet face. My husband is ready for her, but I am not. I have all of these fears and worries about when she gets here. My "secure" side says there is no need to worry; that Clint and I will figure things out, but my "insecure" side tells me I'm not ready and am really not going to know or figure things out. I need a happy medium of the two. Our lives are definately going to change and be extremely different, but for the better!!
How far along? 26 weeks
How big is baby?
Best moment last week? My mom and sis got to feel her kick. My mom teared up and my sis was so excited.
Movement: She has learned how to have a party in my belly at times.
Cravings: I am pretty much back to pre-pregnancy. Eating clean, healthy, natural foods.
Belly Button in or out: Still in there.
What I miss? Having a body can do whatever I want. Things are starting to get harder and harder.
What I am looking forward to: The final trimester and doctor's appt next Thrusday.
Milestones: Last week in 3rd tri.
How is daddy? He is so sweet. He sings to her each night before we go to sleep. She swims over to his face and moves around. It is amazing!

What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "This week your baby-to-be opens her eyes for the first time. She'll open and shut her eyes as she gets used to her new ability. Your little one is still on the small side. Her body may look fully formed on the outside, but inside there's fine-tuning taking place, including her lungs and her brain. Your unborn baby still has some growing to do!?
What is going on in mama? Allergies are still here, but I am getting used to them. They are better though.
Symptoms: If I sit for a while my butt and back start to hurt, but other than that nothing big.
Total weight gain: Still do not know and do not want to know. Life is so much better.
Maternity clothes: There are clothes that aren't maternity???
Sleep: Pretty good for the last week actually.

March of Dimes
Ugh Monday!! The pollen count is AGAIN VERY HIGH today! I have been taking Benadryl at night and actually sleeping pretty well, but I still feel like a yuck-o snot-o the rest of the day. Especially after yesterday when we walked in the March for Dimes, March for babies fundraiser. We walked for Isaac and Eli and it was a great day. The boys are doing better each day. Isaac weighs in at a whopping 5lbs, 6oz and little Eli is slowly getting up there at a little over 3lbs. The docs tell C & B that Isaac will probably be coming home in May and then Eli about a month later. Here are some pics of the day.
My handsome hubs!
My family!
Clint and I!
Before I close this post for the day, you HAVE to check out my belly! I can't imagine what it will look like closer to Delivery day!
Have a great MONDAY!!

25 weeks!! Our Rutababy!
*Edited!
It was brought to my attention that when I copied and pasted this older post it said Happy FRIDAY!! haha. I know it is Thursday.
How far along? 25 weeks
How big is baby? Average size: 1.5-1.8 lbs. Length: 9in crown to rump
What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "Your baby-to-be's lungs are developing rapidly, although she'd probably need a little help breathing if she were born at this point. Her respiratory system continues to develop, her nostrils are open, and she can breathe—but she won't take her first breath of air until delivery day. Her reproductive organs are formed (in boys, the testes have descended). Her skin is translucent and wrinkled, and he can hear your stomach when it gurgles nd your voice when you sing. Your baby is becoming more aware of how she can move—she's wiggling her fingers and toes!"
What is going on in mama? Apparently allergies. I have never had them before. Miss Ava bug has decided I should be included in the world of allergies with LIMITED MEDICINAL OPTIONS!
Symptoms: Nothing new that I know of!
Total weight gain: Not sure and DO NOT CARE!!
Maternity clothes: Oh how I love thee!
Sleep: Pretty much on and off. Adding allergies to the mix, I haven't slept much in the past few days.
Best moment last week: I had went to sleep one night as soon as my head hit the pillow. Clint asked me the next day when I had went to sleep and I told him. I asked why and he said, "Ava was kicking up a storm and we played for about 15 minutes." Aww. Clint and our baby girl had their first special moment "without mom". I was so happy for him. I get to feel her all the time, so when he got his special time with her I thoroughly enjoyed that!
Movement: Pretty consistent pattern. Yesterday she was super active most of the day and I loved it. It's kind of like you are never alone!!
Cravings: Healthy stuff. I want nothing to do with junk! Crazy huh!
Belly Button in or out: I think every day this might be the last day. So far it is still a little in.
What I miss? This week it was being able to fit into the shorts I have. Most of them are a NO-GO for now!
What I am looking forward to: Having my family feel her kick.
Milestones: Nothing specific this week.
How is daddy? He has her listening to music at night before we go to bed. Too cute.

Wedding festivities!
One of my best friends is getting married tomorrow and I am in the wedding. Don't worry, the dress still fits the belly, but it won't fit next week if you get my drift!
This is a 3 day event. Total south wedding of today beginning with the Bridal Luncheon (the bride throws a lunch for her attendants), rehearsal (2 hours long), and ending with rehearsal dinner.
Friday is the wedding, so all day of getting pretty and picture taking. We got a hotel room in the hotel for Friday night(I LOVE hotel rooms) because Saturday morning is the Wedding brunch to socialize with the bride and groom before they head off to the sexymoon.
It is going to be a whirlwind 3 days. I will keep you updated and post pictures!

Veintitres sustantivo (23 weeks)
Happy Good Friday!! Y'all have Easter plans?? My family is coming to our house for lunch. On the menu is ham, green beans, mashed taytas, mac and cheese, mom is bringing homemade rolls, and aunt is bringing dessert!
How far along? 23 weeks!
How big is baby? Average size: About 1lbs Length: A little over 11in from head to toe. A PAPAYA.
What is baby doing this week? Thebump.com says "Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop."
What is going on in mama? "As your baby bump gets more noticeable, so will your aches and pains. Added weight puts pressure on your back, often leading to soreness. Your feet and ankles can swell, especially if you haven't been able to take a break during the day. You may find your appetite increases but that your digestive system is off. Your digestion slows in pregnancy, and your stomach is forced upward as your baby-to-be needs growing room. Both problems mean you may have frequent heartburn, indigestion, bloating, and flatulence. But your discomfort won't last forever—you're well past the midpoint of your pregnancy! "
Symptoms: None this week.
Total weight gain: 18lbs
Maternity clothes: I wouldn't know what to do without them!!
Sleep: A night isn't a night without multiple wake ups and having to pee. Baby Ava was up with me last night for the first time.
Best moment last week: Having Baby Ava visually move my stomach.
Movement: Yes please and thank you!
Cravings: None this week.
Belly Button in or out: Creeping to the surface.
What I miss? BEER!!!
What I am looking forward to: 24 weeks. She will be Viable then and it will be one less worry off my list!
Milestones: 23 week appt was good.
How is daddy? Precious! Seeing his excited face makes me fall in love with him all over. Plus he is really great about saying comments to make me feel beautiful!
*Baby Ava says HI. She is kicking up a storm as I type this!!

Beautiful day in the neighborhood
Hey ya ladies! It is a gorgeous day in Nashville!! I think the high got to 82 degress! Spring and Summer are my favorite seasons!! I love the warmer weather.
I forgot to tell y'all about the other night! We decided Clint was going to read her her 1st book, but we didn't have any that tickled our fancy at home, so we decided on her listening to music. My husband thinks that Classical is a waste and will put her to sleep. He put on Black Eyed Peas and she went nuts. She was making my belly jump and jive through all of their songs. It was amazing!
We can also tell now where she is and can feel her. She has this one spot in my lower right side of my belly that is her nook appparently because she is almost always there! Clint was feeling for her and all of a sudden jerked his hand back. Well, I started laughing and asked him what was wrong. Either her foot or hand grazed by his hand and creeped him out (in a good way!) I just laughed.
Moving along. Today was my 23 week apt. My doc was there! Yay! Well, she was late because her hospital rounds took her longer. Anywho, her normal nurse, Judy, wasn't there and the new nurse had me pee in a cup and get my weight. I closed my eyes because I DID NOT WANT TO KNOW! If that heifer didn't say it out loud when she was writing it in my chart. AHH I guess I should let EVERYONE KNOW!! I am up 5lbs. (normal gain at this time.) Total of 18.
Our Dr. finally made it at got Baby Ava's heartbeat (141)and checked my fungal height (right on 23 week schedule) and told me about by blood sugar test that I will do next time. When she was done I told her I wasn't happy about how Dr. Substitute treated my gain last checkup. Dr. said, "well she had a reason to be concerned." I then told her I have a history of eating disorder and ONE little thing could make me spiral back down that ugly path. (Having an eating disorder is like being and alcoholic!!) She wrote that in my chart for future doctors. I think docs learn the same speech because she asked if I drank juice and if my "healthy" portions were bigger. NO MA'AM.
This is how the conversation went.
Dr: WHAT DO YOU EAT FOR BREAKFAST??
ME: I am a creature of habit so Breakfast: 1 egg, 2 egg whites, 2 pieces double fiber whole grain bread, 2 pieces of turkey bacon.
Dr: "What about lunch??"
ME: either a big salad or a Morningstar chicken patty sandwich and piece of fruit or veggies.
Dr: "Well, it looks like you can't do any healthier huh?!!?
ME:(thinking:) THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO TELL Y'ALL!!!!!
Before she left, she said, "it could be you have gestational diabetes!" "Does your family have a history?"
NO MA'AM.
Clint asked me later this afternoon what I thought about the appt. (He was so concerned that I was defeated again. Especially, after she said I could have GD.) I told him I am good! A LOT of women THINK they are eating healthy and in reality they aren't at all or are eating too much of the healthy food. (I track all of my food on Babyfit.com.) I told him that she is just following protocol.and until today didn't really KNOW my daily eating. I am ok with the gain and I doubt I have GD. I am still thinking my body is going to do what it wants and I AM STILL OK WITH THAT!!!
