Introducing.....

Hi! I am Ava!  I know this is my mama's place to write about her workouts, our life, her vents, and ME, but I thought I would let her have a day off of posting and formally introduce myself.
**Mama did want me to tell you that she did yoga last night.  Although, I don't know why she went into her and daddy's room to do it.  I like to laugh at her when she does those funny things with her booty and legs.

Today, I am 8 months old!  That's right! 8 months has flown by!  My mama and daddy tell me to slooooow down, but I don't really know what that means.

Here's a little about what I am doing these days.
-I am military crawling all over the place.  I am super fast and love to "follow" people wherever they go.
-I can stand up, as you can see in that cute picture of me.  You like my new stand up toy??  Daddy and mama just bought that for me this past weekend.  Wonder why mama didn't mention it in her "Weekend Recap"?  I thought it was pretty big news.
-I growl.  Not just make noises, but actually GROWL!  I can do it on command or just whenever I feel like it. People seem to think this is funny, but I just like the sound I make and how it makes my throat feel funny.
-My feet are old news.  There is just too much stuff to explore and stand up to see.
-When I get mad or frustrated I grunt and ball my fists up.  I think the parents know I mean business but they just tend to laugh at me!
-I am still taking bottles that have mama's milk when she is not around, but when she is.....look out because I can smell her from a mile away.  We love our "time" together, but I tend to pinch mama's arms and scratch her chest.  She doesn't like that too much, but I love "loving" on her.
-Because of that cool thing that makes my food (mama says it's the Baby Bullet, whatever) I have eaten avocado, acorn squash, apples, bananas(I don't think I like these too much.  Really sweet.) pears, sweet potatoes.  I'm sure I am forgetting something, but hey I'm only 8 months old.  I don't even know what these things are.  I just know I like them!
-I found this big thing in my mouth yesterday that I can stick out.  Mama and daddy have one too and they stick theirs out too.  Huh, wonder what that is?  It's fun to play with though.
-I love to smile.  I smile all of the time, even when I wake up or am "supposed" to be going to bed.  I'm just happy!

That is all for now.  I need a nap, but who wants a nap when there is so much to do?!?!

P.S. Mama says she will be back tomorrow.  We are going to the gym tonight after they pick me up from Gram and Pappy's house.  I really like the gym.  Miss Savannah is fun and we play while mama and daddy go do something that makes them yucky and wet.  Maybe one day I'll get to do that.

Nice to meet you!!!

I'm back at it!

Well, hello there!  I hope everyone's week is going as smooth as possible!

I am back!  To running that is!  Monday, I tested the waters and was able to knock out a slow and easy 3 miles on the treadmill.  I made sure to stretch, stretch, stretch before and after and ice just for precautionary purposes.  It is a.ma.zing how much you miss something when you "can't/shouldn't" do it.  My legs were being stubborn that first mile or so saying, "um excuse me lady, but we haven't done this in 5 days and we were getting used to the rest!"  My response. "TOO BAD you two! Get to gettin."  It felt so good to feel that "release" to run again.  Running truly is a form of therapy.
Do you feel this way too?

Yesterday, I tested the waters again and hit up 4 miles on the treadmill at work.  Good stuff!!  Again, I stretched and iced after.  But before I iced, I did a little bit of weights.
3x10 Superset
DB Pullover with crunch on exercise ball -20# kettlebell (easier to handle)
DB Hip Thrusts on exer. ball -20# KB

I woke up a little stiff today, so I will take today as an active rest day and do some yoga when I get home!
Do you take active rest days?  What do you do?

The reading of the The Runner's Diet is going good.  It is an easy read.  I will definitely be doing a "book report" for you when I am done.  I just realized I am reading 3 books right now.  There is The Runner's Diet, a book from a series by Rachel Vincent called Pride (it's a fun read about werecats and their Pride.  I can't put them down. Well, I have to but I don't want to! Mama duties take precedence)  and a girly read on my Sony Reader called Chasing Perfect by Susan Mallery.  Yes, I can actually read while running.  Apparently, it is a skill.  Haha, I also listen to music.  It is amazing I don't have a falling of the treadmill story!
Are you reading anything these days?
Do you multi-task on cardio?

Alrighty, have a great day!  Almost there.(the end of the work week that is!)

Monday Weekend Recap

Hidey ho neighbors!

I hope your weekend was a good one!  The weather here went back to wintery yuckiness.  Come on Spring! You are such a tease!

Friday was hellaciously busy!  I had patients or clients EVERY HOUR!  It does make the day go by supa-dupa fast, but I felt like a chicken without a head running around at times or a juggling monkey.  But I did have something to look forward to!

60 minute MASSAGE!!!!!!!!!!

My good friend, Amanda, is a massage therapist and she knew my achilles/calf was acting snotty, so she said to come to the salon where she works and she would work on me!  SCORE!

Let me tell you, she is AMAZING!  I felt so relaxed and she worked out spots in my quads and shoulders that I had no idea were so knotted up.  I left feeling like a brand new woman.

I went home to my loves and we relaxed at home for the rest of the night.

Saturday, I had to work, again.  This is the 3rd in a series of 6 I am having to work!  The paychecks are good for 6 day a week work weeks, but I had a wonderful husband and runny nosed/raspy voiced baby at home...without me!

I was able to leave earlier than I thought and headed to the grocery real quick before heading home.  You see, my sis turns 21 today, so my whole family got together on Saturday night at my parent's house.  She had requested

Oh boy

Hidey!  How about Monday was 80 degrees and today's high 40's.  Come onnnn Mother Nature, get it together.  It is SPRING!  At least, we don't have snow like some parts of the country (sorry y'all). For that I am thankful.

So yesterday was a rest day!  Convenient too!  I am fighting a calf/achilles "injury".  It started bothering me on my Monday run with Eva.  I chalked it up to randomness.  Tuesday it started off bothering me and then getting better, but after my run......aye carumba, it hurt to walk.  I iced, iced, iced that sucker!
My pain is where the top lightening bolt is.

Source

After much thinking over all of my schooling and researching my Doctorate in GOOGLE, I self-diagnosed myself with Stage 1-2 achilles tendonitis.

What is achilles tendonitis?
The Achilles Tendon is the large tendon running from the calf muscles (the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles) located in the back of the leg to the back of the heel.    This muscle and tendon combination is responsible for allowing your foot to push off the ground when you're walking, running, and jumping.

Because it's used so much in gait, the tendon is
susceptible to injury.
In the earliest stages, the tendon becomes inflamed.
At this point we would name the problem "Achilles
Tendinitis",
because adding the suffix -itis to the end of a word means
that tissue is
inflamed.

Here are the stages from Achilles tendon.com

The four stages, or grades, are:
  • Stage 1. No pain during exercise, but there is some discomfort in the morning when first getting out of bed. The stiffness and creaking go away after a few minutes and are fine the rest of the day. Lightly pinching the Achilles tendon with the forefinger and thumb in the morning or after exercise will probably indicate soreness.
  • Stage 2. Pain during exercise or running, but performance is not affected. The stiffness and creaking continue to appear when first getting out of bed and continue to disappear shortly afterward. Lightly pinching the Achilles tendon with the forefinger and thumb in the morning or after exercise will indicate soreness.
  • Stage 3. Pain during exercise or running that is detrimental to performance. The stiffness and creaking continue to appear when first getting out of bed, but may continue for some time and reappear at other points during the day. Lightly pinching the Achilles tendon with the forefinger and thumb in the morning or after exercise will indicate soreness.
  • Stage 4. Hurts too much to exercise or run. The stiffness and creaking continue to appear when first getting out of bed, but may continue for most of the day. Lightly pinching the Achilles tendon with the forefinger and thumb at almost any time of day will indicate soreness.

*I am between 1 and 2.

How did this happen?

Sometimes Achilles Tendinitis is a result of sudden trauma, as you might encounter from playing sports, but you can also have Achilles tendon pain as a result of small, unnoticed, day-to-day irritations that inflame the tendon over time by a cumulative effect.  In those with no history of trauma, Achilles Tendonitis is sometimes associated simply with long periods of standing.
There are several factors that can cause the gradual development of Achilles Tendinitis.  Improper shoe selection, particularly using high heels over many years, increases your odds of developing the condition.  This is because high-heeled shoes cause your calf muscles to contract, leaving the tendon with a lot less slack in it.
Inadequate stretching before engaging in athletic or other physically-demanding activities also predisposes you to develop the problem.  This is especially true in "weekend athletes", individuals who tend to partake in excessive physical activities on an intermittent basis.
Biomechanical abnormalities like excessive pronation (too much flattening of the arch) also tends to cause this condition.  And it is much more common individuals with equinus.
It is more common in the middle-aged, the out-of-shape, smokers, and in those who use steroids.  Men get the condition more frequently than women.
Those involved in jumping and high-impact sports are particularly vulnerable.

*I started doing hills!  I probably need to be fitted for proper shoes.  I added mileage.  I am a perfect candidate!!

Treatment:

Complete rest is vital, and ice is of great help the first 2 days of the injury. (Apply ice 15 minutes every hour).  Taping, padding, heel lifts, anti-inflammatory medications, immobilization, physiotherapy, massage, shoe modifications are all helpful in the acute stage.

So, this is what I am doing.  Ice, ice, ice.  Rested yesterday and today for sure.  I will play each day by ear.  I am lucky to work for a Chiropractor.  Yesterday, I was able to get Electrical muscle stimulation with ice.  Today, I got some Ultrasound muscle treatment and our massage therapist worked on me!  I think hope I got this injury before it bit me good and hard and I can resume my running soon!  I am already itching!  Crazy.  I think it is also because I know I shouldn't/can't run that has me itching like a dog with fleas! (Nice visual huh?!)  My running partner, Eva, texted me earlier and said her and another friend were running 10 miles and I told her how jealous I was!  If you would have told me I would have been jealous of someone for running 10 miles just 2 months ago, I would have chuckled in your face!  It is amazing how fast I have become addicted.

Questions:
Have you been fitted for shoes?  Worth it?
Ever had achilles problems?

Have a great day!  Run a little extra for me, pu pu please!!

P.S.  For all its worth, I get to spend extra time with Clint and Ava!!!!!

Tuesday Thoughts

Day #2 for the week!  It is going to hit 80+ again today!  Now, this is my kind of weather!  Although, the rain is coming in tomorrow!  April showers right?!

Since, the 1st part of the week was supposed to be fantastic, I hit up my running bud, Eva and we met at a park downtown Nashville to get in an outside run.  Even though the sun was out and it was super warm, the wind was brutal.  It is amazing how much the wind will affect a run. (feel like it)  Research studies have been done and some say it affects a run and some don't!  Well, it sure as heck seems harder!
We did 5 miles in 51 min and a total of 5.33miles in 56 min!  We did a little more walking intervals, but all in all it was a pretty good run.

Since I started training for the 1/2 marathon, I have been reading/researching running like nobody's business!  When I am interested in something, I will research the heck out of it.  I just want to soak up all the info I can.  I am loving Runner's World and Daily Mile.  I frequent those sites a few dozen times a day!  There are so many great tips and articles to peruse!

Here is a question to chew on......Do you consider yourself a runner?

Source
I have been thinking about this since I started training.  What DOES make a runner?  Do you have to run so many days a week?  Run so many miles a week?  Run a set number of races?

I don't think so.  I have become a runner.  Here is a list of reasons why I think I am a Runner.
Running to me is:
                 -peaceful
                 -something I enjoy(I forgot this!)
-cheap(well unless you start buying gear....I am this.close)
-convenient. You can just grab your shoes, Garmin, and hit the road
-a way to continue to push yourself (faster pace, longer runs, fewer walks, more miles, finished races)
-something to be proud of yourself for.  Not everyone can say they ran X amount of miles in X amount of time or completed a 1/2 marathon, marathon, or Ultra(Bless those people's hearts who do this!)
-a way to clear your head and relieve some stress
-a way to block out life and just get away
-Exercise that you can do alone or with a buddy(s)
-great way to stay in shape or get in shape
-a way to change up the scenery (trails, parks, road, beach, "dreadmill")
-on my to-do list. (I have to have one daily and check of things.  Sense of accomplishments for me)
What do you think?
I don't think there is a certain criteria to say "I am now officially a runner".  Every BODY is different.  We all have different strengths and weaknesses that make us unique. We all have different styles of exercise that we like or don't like or what works and what doesn't.  I now consider myself a runner.

You know you're a runner when:
You catch yourself thinking of different routes you could run.
You check the weather at the first of the week to schedule my workouts around the weather.
You see a runner and think, "aw man I am jealous of them."
You ..................

What makes you a runner?

Have a great day?

Monday Weekend Recap

Helllooooo!

It is Monday yet again!  This weekend in Nashville was BEAUTIFUL!!
Did you have a great weekend?

Let's get to recapping.

Friday:
Let's see.  Where I left off?  Oh yeah, My 1/2 marathon training said I was to do 3 miles.  Well, My groin started acting up and I didn't want to push it too much so I finished a craptastic 2 miles! Ugh.  Some days are good running days and some aren't!
We had Family date night and had so much fun.  Dinner at Blue Coast Burrito, yum and then Costco.  Sounds perfect to me!  It was!
Saturday:
I had to work (and will the next 2 more Saturdays) and the only way I could fit in my planned 8 miles was to get up literally before the sun at 5:45am.  My good friend Eva so graciously go up to run with me(she is running the 1/2 as well).  Bless her heart, she got up that early when she had nothing to do that day.
We did a total of 8.68 miles in 1:32min.  That is the farthest I have EVER ran and it was surprising, should I say easy?!?!
I worked until 2pm and then went home to spend time with my two favorite people.
Sunday:
Church
Lowe's
Walmart (to pick up little things we didn't want to buy in bulk at Costco)
Home.  We bought a lawnmower, so our friends picked it up for us and brought it to our house and then hung out for a while.
After the left, we spent more time together.  The weather was perfect.  We had our windows and doors open.  Ava was able to get outside and get some sunshine(not too much).  Although, she has hit the point of no return.  When babies are newbies, you can afford to let them be for a minute or two while you go to another room.  For Ava, this IS NO LONGER!  No more taking ANY  eyes off of her.  She is a fast one and if a door is open, she is going to make a break for it! All hands on deck when she is on the floor.  Although, it is work, it is a work I would GLADLY accept EVERY DAY!!

It is going to be 80 degrees today!!  Definately running outside today with my friend Eva.  I think we are going to do 5+.  We are meeting after I get off of work to run at a beautiful park downtown Nashvlle! So excited!

Are you getting to get outside today, on the 1st full day of Spring?!?!

Have a great day!!

Peaceful easy feeling

"It's Friday.  I ain't got no job and I ain't got $%*# to do!"

Bonus points if you can name that movie!!

Anywho....Happy Friday to ya!  I hope your St. Patty's day was swell.
Did you celebrate?
I wore green if that counts!  Ava apparently has decided it is cool to pinch people.  St. Patty's day or not!  Mama is having to nip that in the bud, quick like!  She will pinch the fire out of you!!

Yesterday, it was 79 degrees here in Nashville!  That is crazy ridiculous.  So what did I do???  I skipped the gym!!  I went home and put on my running shorts, laced up my tennis, put on my borrowed Garmin (which is amazing and the coolest thing since sliced bread) and got my run on!

Now, in Nashville, flat ground is NOT EASY to come across.  In fact, rolling hills are prevalent, especially where we live.  I have been running on the treadmill at the gym, but since I won't be running on that for the 1/2 marathon, I thought I should probably get to gettin it outside!  This run was hard and great at the same time!

The difficulties:
-It was windy.
-I ran on the highway and the wind from the passing cars was a definite resistance trainer!
-The hills were somewhat brutal as well.
The goods:
-I was outside and in the warmth and sunshine.
-I run faster outside.
-Good, fast paced music, amazingly, makes my legs go faster!
-I was at peace out there running!  This I needed!!!!

4.5mile run in 42:30min.  (The 1st 4min I warmed up by walking.)  Oh yea!!!

Do you find it peaceful to run outside??

Tonight is family date night.  Out to eat and COSTCO!!!

What are your plans for tonight?

Have a great end of the week!!!

Halfway

Hidey!
The week is halfway ov-ah!!!

Well, if you read my Monday recap, you know I had a hellacious morning! I was THIS.CLOSE to saying screw it and going to get those beloved animal crackers and icing, but instead I decided to go get pampered and get my nails done!  Win win without the guilt!  Plus my nails look gooooood!  The day had no other mishaps, thank goodness.  I got all of the craziness out at one time apparently!

Monday workout:
Just a run today.
4.65 miles in 43 min.

Tuesday workout:
Cardio:
5 miles in 46:30 min.
I struggled a little and thought my legs felt heavy, but my pace stayed around my usual average, so I can't complain.  I just can't get over how much I am loving being a "runner".
What makes a "runner" in your opinion?
Weights:
Upper body
2x12 Bent over rows 20lb DBs
2x12 Chest press 20lb DBs
2x12 Bicep Curls 20lb DBs
2x12 Shoulder press 15lb DBs
2x12 Tricep Kickbacks 15lb DBs
*Review.  I was pretty proud of the 20lb'ers.  The bicep curls were tough, but I did pound them out.  The gym felt hotter than usual and I was a sweaty machine when we left.

Today's workout:
Rest day!

Have a great day!!!

Weekend recap Monday!

Ugh Monday!

Can I just tell you this Monday morning has not been one to write home about (ha just blog about).

Source
I've been up since 3am!  Ava got up to eat then and my alarm goes off at 4am, so there was no reason or way to go back to bed!  Ok, that's happened before.  List of things that went "wrong"!
1.  I couldn't get the carseat dock to cooperate and I felt stupid.  Clint had to come out and help me.
2.  I left the sunroof of our Murano open and it rained last night!  We have leather seats! yay!
3.  Clint's work van got stuck in the yard....it rained last night remember.  He had to call a buddy to help him.
4.  I forgot to take diapers over to my parent's house when I dropped Ava off.
5.  I started crying as soon as I saw my mama!
6.  Ava is sick and I didn't want to leave her.
7.  I dropped her socks in the driveway at my parent's and had to call them to re-open the garage door to give them to my mom.
8. I was now running late for work!!!
***ALL OF THIS BEFORE 7am!!!!!

Needless to say, I am a frazzled, emotional mama right now.

I really want a good cry, animal crackers with icing RIGHT NOW!

Anyway, off to the recap the weekend.
Friday night:
-Meet with our accountant to finish our taxes.
-Once upon a Child for Ava some clothes.
-TJ MAXX-Ava an adorable dress.

-Family gym time.
-Clint=Wallyball
-Ava=kidcare
-Me=7miles in 64 min!!!!  Heck yeah.  I was so proud of myself.  I did a total of 7.25 in 67 min.  It was the farthest I have EVER ran!  Plus it wasn't a bad time to run it in either!

-Lunch with Pops(Clint's dad) and girlfriend.
-Went to look for new/used dryer.
-Kohl's
-Target
-Ross
-Home for the rest of the night!

Sunday:
-Church
-Bowling Green, KY-Visit Clint's mom and boyfriend and then off to our nephew's Birthday party.
-I had a horrendous headache and stubborn me didn't want to take anything, so I suffered.  Wonderful!
-Ava didn't cope well with the time change poor thing.  She did have a long nap on the way up and back home from the birthday party, but her 8pm bedtime was pushed back!
-Home to find our dog had scratched herself raw and bled on our sheets!  YAY!......So had to put a load of laundry in.

All in all it was a rush rush rush weekend and I am sure not glad it is Monday!!!!
It can only get better, right?!?!?

How was your weekend??

A 1st of mine, pushing myself

TingGIF!!!!!!!!!!

Have any plans for tonight?
We are shopping tonight. Ava needs some new jammies and Spring clothes.  Then out to eat.  Family date!

The other day at work I experienced a first of my own.

I had an EB” CELLULAR CLEANSE THERAPY –IONIZING FOOT BATH.

What in the world?
Well, from this Source.

"WHAT IT DOES
“EB” Cellular Cleanse Therapy has been shown in clinical trials, using electrodermal
scanning, to improve and balance the body’s energy channels or meridians.  These
meridians begin or end on the feet or hands and provide a pathway for energy to flow to or
from a particular organ (i.e. liver, kidney, etc.). A person’s current state of health is
generally determined by how well energy flows through these meridians or energy
channels.
The “EB” cellular cleanse therapy has also been shown in clinical trials to correct and
balance the body’s pH.  Balancing the body’s pH is critical in assisting the body in every
aspect, from its ability to detox to its ability to digest, and to achieve homeostasis.
HOW IT WORKS
The Cellular cleanse therapy uses direct current to create an ionic energy field in the foot
bath similar to the energy produced by the human body.  This energy is sub-threshold,
meaning that the patient generally will not feel the treatment.  It creates energy by altering
the electron and proton load in water to create an electromagnetic altered water
environment.  The patient places their feet in the water to receive the flow of appropriate
ions.  The energy flow from the “EB” Cellular Cleanse Therapy increases the body’s
energetics, or simply translated “Life Energy”."

My thoughts:
It turned the ugliest and weirdest colors as it was "taking out my meanness."
I don't know if it honestly does anything, but it was neat to try and see all the goo that the thing extracted from me.

Have you ever had a foot bath like this?

Toeing the line

Hey lovies!  I hope your Hump day is off to a smashing start!

I decided after much consideration about yesterday's workout dilemma to go ahead and run at the gym and lift.  I know I am crazy, but my "all, type A" personality felt guilty for not being able to mark off Monday's run on my schedule.
I had about an hour and a half to kill since Clint was playing Wally-ball with buddies.
Cardio:
@work on Treadmill-4.26m in 41 min
@gym on Treadmill-3.12m run; .4m walk on incline
Total 7.7miles
Weights:
(actually body weight workout)
Circuit: 2x through
Decline pushups 10x
Regular pushups 10x
Incline pushups 10x
Dips 10x
Sphinx pushups(ouch) 10x
Planks 1 min
So, after all of that I felt great and HUNGRY.  BUT.......I am toeing the line.  In my "all, Type A" personality, it is hard for me to have balance.  Not just in running, but with life.

There is NO reason that I HAD to run at the gym last night.  I had already ran 4.26 miles that morning!

I am nuts!

I have plenty of time to continue to accummulate miles for the 1/2.  Just because I feel good doesn't mean 2 a days is the smart option.

My "plan" has me doing cross-training today, but I am making it a Rest day.  This is actually hard for me and I could easily run at work, but it is more about proving to myself that I can have balance.  I will run/lift tomorrow and then get back to my regularly scheduled plan, but for today I can show myself that resting is good for my body.  Life happens and I don't HAVE to do a 2 a dayer to make up for a run.  I had a stomach bug for pete's sake!  I would've been completely ok with nixing it for the week!

Ok, I am done preaching to myself. haha

How do you find balance?
Do you feel guilty about rest days or missing a workout?
What is your personality type?

Have a great day!!

Belated recap, horn tooting, and growling.

Sorry for the non Weekend Recap post yesterday.  I went home with a stomach bug and just honestly didn't feel  like recapping!

I am better today and back to business!

So for those curious....
WEEKEND RECAP!

Friday:
Extremely busy day at work!  But I still got to get my run in when a patient cancelled.  Love that!!  I ran 4.25 miles in 41 min! I was pretty impressed with myself!(horn tooting)

I came home and we relaxed and spent QT with each other.  Love!

Saturday:
I don't know about y'all but I am so much more productive in the morning.  Clint woke up at 7:15am Saturday morning to me dusting the house.  The funny thing is, I had already loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen, and folded laundry!  I'm nuts, I know!  But I am like that at work too!  I can get most of my stuff done by mid-morning, so I have to pace myself!
When are you most productive??

We went to the gym, like every other Saturday.  My training plan said to do a 5k, but I wanted to run farther. I am so competitive, especially with myself.  I ended up running 6.32 miles in 60 min.  I only walked 1 min.  I finished with .2 cooling off.  I have never ran than far consistently before and was SO proud of myself.  Even better than Friday's horn tooting!! haha
After my stellar performance, I lifted.
Weights:
Upper body:2x10
Machine rows 70lbs
Reverse grip machine Lat Pull downs 80lbs
Flat bench, palms facing chest press, fly combo 15lbs
Palms turned in shoulder press 15lbs
Bicep curls 15lbs
Bicycles 2x30
Reverse crunch/hip lift 2x10

We went home and got ready to go run some errands (TJ MAXX, Babies R Us) before meeting friends out for Sushi. Yummmm

Sunday:
Horrible headache, so we skipped church.  I started to feel a little better, so we headed to the grocery store.  Under budget!  Oh yeaaaaa!  Came home and relaxed the rest of the day.

All in all, nothing too terribly exciting, but good!

Did you have a great weekend??

We are heading to the gym tonight. I might run at work if I can fit it in.  I wasn't able to "mark off" yesterday's run on the training plan and that is bothering me.
Should I do 2 runs today to make up for yesterday and keep my Rest day Thursday
                                            OR
Nix Rest day for the "Monday run"???
 Thoughts????

Have a great Tuesday
Are you participating in Fat Tuesday???? How will you indulge???.
P.S.  Ava's new things.............when she gets mad she grunts and balls her fists!!  HILARIOUS  Then yesterday when her and Clint got home, she started growling, yes growling!  Again, HILARIOUS!!  She is going to be a menace to society! hahaha  She's a mess!!  I wouldn't have it any other way!

Off my chest.

It is Friday Eve! Oh yea and Jers-day.(Jersey Shores comes on tonight, just in case you live under a rock and didn't know that =))

Oh, quick update on vacation and my parents.  We decided in the best interest of our family (Clint, little Snook, and myself)  that we are going to do our own thing and head down to Florida for a week with some friends.  This was a huge thing for me because I didn't want to disappoint my family.  We had decided and then I had to break the news.  Sheesh......talk about anxiety.  What do I tell them?  When?  Do I tell the truth, the whole truth, so help me God?

Well, I bit the bullet and told the news Tuesday morning.  I didn't divulge every detail of why we weren't going, I just said that that week is a conflicting week(which isn't a lie) and that maybe next year it could work out better.  My mom was disappointed but didn't say much, which means she is upset.  She is the silent type when she is upset.  (doesn't want to say something she will regret.)  All my life this has SUCKED by the way.  One time I told her something she didn't want to hear and she didn't talk to me for a WEEK!  Yeah I know. Let's talk about it and get it over with!
Do you stew until you are ready or do you lay things out on the table right then?

Any-who.  Our trip is booked!!!  One glorious week in Florida!  (insert Squeal!)  I love, L.O.V.E. the beach!  Give me a chair and a book or 8 and I am one happy beacher.

Do you like the beach?

Okie doke, on to yesterday's workout.  My 1/2 marathon plan said it was Cross training day.  I decided to get my lifting on at work, so I could do all of my cross training at the gym last night and not keep us there for a long time.
Weights:
2x10 Flys 10#DBs
2x10 Front Squats 20#DBs
2x10 Reverse flys 10#DBs

2x10 Hammer curls 15#DBs
2x10 Stationary lunges 15#DBs
2x10 Tricep Kick Backs 15#DBs
2x10/leg Alternating Leg Drop downs

For my cardio, I thought, I haven't taken a spin class in ages, that's what I will do.  I got there and was literally on my bike warming up when one of the workers pokes her head in and said they couldn't find a replacement!  WHAT?  Seriously???  Well Craaaaap.
Ok......back up and punt.  Might as well run!
Cardio:
Dreadmill:  Speed work cycling up to 8mph-2.5 miles in 26 min
Elliptical: 10 min
Stair-masta: 5ish minutes

It was definitely time to call it a day!!!

Have a great day!
