Decided

Hey bloggies.  Happy Hump day! (I love to say that, haha!!!)  I hope your week has been going great.  Mine has been so-so.

The other morning, I was doing my usual morning routine (breakfast, filling in my life with computer time) and decided something.  I go to my 23 week appt. tomorrow and we you go to the appts., if everything is a routine checkup, as soon as you get there you pee in a cup and get your weight taken.  If you remember my post, at my big u/s, you will remember I didn't have a good experience with my "substitute" doctor.  I have been so worried about gaining too much for the last 4 weeks.
(Beware.  There are some ramblings.)

My decision is...I AM NOT GOING TO SEE WHAT MY WEIGHT IS!.

I will let the doctor tell me if she is concerned with it, but otherwise I don't want to know what the scale says.  I FEEL good until I know that number.  Then, I start comparing myself to every other pregnant woman and trying to fit into the "supposed to weigh" category.  I have had enough.  I am one woman.  If I am healthy and so is Baby Ava, then I am ok with that.

I eat 95% healthier than most pregnant women and most non-pregnant women and if my body wants to put on more than the average gain, SO BE IT.  It's not like I don't live at the gym all day.  I will get the gain off.  I am going to enjoy this pregnancy and not let that number ruin our happiness.

So there is my big decision and I am sticking to it!!!!  It is so empowering!!!

22 weeker (5th Month)

Hidey Ho lovies!! Happy Friday!!  I love Fridays!!  Here is the weekly update to peruse!!

How far along? 22 weeks

How big is baby? Average size:just over 12 ounces (a coke can!) Length: About 11in from head to toe.

What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "Your baby's brain is growing daily. Her senses are also starting develop. She can hear the sound of your heart along with your breathing. As she wiggles her fingers, she may touch her face or even suck her thumb. Her lungs are becoming more mature, and she even goes through the motions of breathing. She can also swallow, although she won't have her first real meal until delivery day."
What is going on in mama?  Growth!  Mama is having a hard time adjusting to this body to be honest.  I am just NOT understanding how my husband thinks I am beautiful.  I believe him when he tells me, but a piece of me is like "how"?  This past week my mental aspect has been working overtime!!  I just need to get over it and accept this body is a vessel for the beautiful blessing that we have made.
Symptoms: Random Crying fits, expanding belly, heartburn.
Total weight gain: I stupidly stepped on the scale the other day and was not entirely happy.  I go to the doc next week, so we will see the official number.
Maternity clothes: There is no other way in the pants department.
Sleep: Uncomfortable.  More to come!  YAY
Best moment last week: Clint was able to feel Ava kick!
Movement: She is on a schedule.  She likes when I drive.
Cravings: Chocolate chip pancakes, cereal
Belly Button in or out: Middle of the road.
What I miss? Honestly, I am missing my in shape body.
What I am looking forward to: Everyday is a new adventure.
Milestones: We are in our 5th month.
How is daddy? He is over the moon these days!!

Wonderful Wednesday

Hi gals!  Yesterday, I had the day off and piddled around the house and went to the grocery store.  I don't know about y'all, but I LOVE grocery shopping.  Well, until you have to swipe the debit card.  Then, it blows all of the fun out of my sails!

I met Clint and we went to REGISTER!!!!!!

We get there and go to the help desk where this nice employee gives us and what looks to be the next "16 and Pregnant" star (we looked around for the MTV camera crew) the rules and tips for registering along with a helpful hint sheet.

After our tutorial, the hounds were realeased and we were off!  OH wow, talk about OVERWHELMING!!!   We decided to start at one corner and go through ever aisle and make our way around.  Clint was so funny.  Give a man a gun and anything can be fun.  I would be looking at something and I would here random beeps of things he was shooting.  I am so blessed to have a hubs that is so into all of this.  (He was just as active in our wedding planning!)

After 2 hours and 140 items shot, we were done! Well, with our first store.  We are registering at Target Friday night.  Who new something so small could come into this world with so much stuff!

I will leave you with some pictures of the fun and memorable event.

Me trying to figure out the fun gun!

Wow I AM Pregnant!

After 3 takes and swithcing sides!

Taking a break!

No!  She does not need that!!! Step away with the gun!

HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY!!

Amazing

Last night was an experience I will never forget.  For the past few days, I have felt baby girl on the outside randomly.  If Clint is around I grab his hand real fast to see if he can feel her.  His poor face has been disappointing.

We wer laying in bed last night and Clint was irritating me by messing with my more shallow belly button.  Baby Ava kicked and I grabbed his hand.  I have not been telling him when she kicks in hopes he will realize it on his own.  She kicked and he said, "was that you or her?" (I have had false alarms that were really gas when he felt my belly!)  I giggled and said that was HER!!!  She kicked him 2 more times and I couldn't stop laughing out of joy that he was so excited.  He was a happy daddy to say the least.  He said, "that's weird, I can't imagine what it feels like on the inside."

It was an amazing experience for the both of us.  I will cherish it forever.

Happy ICLW!

ICLW!

Welcome ICLWers!  I am so glad and awed that you stopped by my blog!  I will give you a little background.  I am a manager/personal trainer and I love my career choice.  It is rare that I dread going to work or training a client!

When we decided to go off BC, it went a few months without me getting my period.  Boy let me tell ya it is disheartening when you think "I must be pregnant since I am not getting my period yet.  Maybe I am one of the lucky ones who gets knocked up by her hubs staring at her."  Um NO!!  That was not me.  We went to the doc and my hormones were so low because I had really low body fat.  I was told to put on some weight to get my levels up.  GASP!  PUT ON SOME WEIGHT!!  I help people take it off.  That was a struggle mentally for me, but the hopeful result helped in the end.  We did a month of hormone replacement therapy to jump start my hormones.  (Think menopause treatment.  That is a slap to the self esteem at 27 years old!)  After 2 rounds of Clomid at 50mg and 100mg, we are on our way to a healthy baby GIRL at the end of July.

Having gone through unknown infertility and then known infertility, it has opened my eyes to the struggle emotionally and physically it can put on you and your spouse.  They are affected just as much, but in a different way.  Clint, my hubs, is the most amazing man and we have grown even closer through it all.  I fall in love him a little more each day, as well as this sweet girl growing in my belly!

Have a great ICLW week!  I look forward to commenting on new and blogs I follow.  See you around the blog world.

20+1

Hi chicas.  I hope your Wednesday was a good one!  Here are the stats this week on me and my little monkey!!

How far along? 21 weeks

How big is baby? Average size: 10.5-12.7 oz  Length: 7.2 in-10.5in (the length of a banana)

What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "Your little one will begin to fill out over the next few weeks. Fat layers form throughout your unborn baby's body. These layers will eventually keep him warm and insulated once outside the womb. Soft hair, called lanugo, covers his body, too. His eyelids are still closed, making him appear like he's sleeping, but frequent wiggles will let you know he's awake. You may also feel Baby hiccupping. Those jerky motions you feel in your belly are a result of little lungs practicing the important task of breathing."

What is going on in mama? My belly has popped and it becoming more round.  I am still carrying low though.  We went to a wedding this past Saturday and my back was facing a friend of the family I haven't seen in a while and she said I didn't look pregnant until I turned around!  (Bless her!)

Symptoms: Some days I am more tired than others, but I have been feeling GRRRREAT!  I have actually increased my cardio this week because I figure why not? since I won't be able to later on!

Total weight gain: Not looking!!  Uh uh you can't make me!

Maternity clothes:  Please and thank you!!

Sleep: What's that??  I am already beginning to be uncomfortable.  It supposedly gets worse, so I am in a world of hurt in the exhaustion part.  Although, nothing is as bad as 1st trimester exhaustion.  That is another beast!

Best moment last week:

Movement: She is becoming more and more active on a regular basis. I light up with a grin each time.

Cravings: Ummm..Honestly, nothing. I am a creature of habit and have gone back to eating the same things each day!

Belly Button in or out:  Let's put it this way.  I can see it won't be much longer until there is no way it isn't flush with my belly.

What I miss:

What I am looking forward to: Still waiting for Clint to feel her move.

Milestones: I am getting comments from strangers.  This means random people can tell I'm pregnant!  YES!!!!

How is daddy?

Half-Baked (20 weeks)

Hi!!  20 week updater ladies!!!

How far along? Half way, 20 weeks
How big is baby? Average size: 9oz, Length: 6in (crown to rump)

What is baby doing this week? Babyzone.com says "By week 20, your baby-to-be is gearing up for the next phase in her development—filling out. Her organs are getting into their proper places. Her kidneys are now in position with their familiar bean shape. Her ovaries have reached their position. Her brain continues to form and grow. Herr teeth are beginning to appear, and she can swallow. If you haven't been able to feel him move, chances are you'll be feeling him move more and more over the coming weeks."

What is going on in mama? Growing steadily as I should.

Symptoms: Nothing really.  I 'm still feeling great!!

Total weight gain: At the Big U/S appt with the substitute doc, I had gained 7, so a total of 13.  Although, that is ok and in range, I seem to be conscious of what I eat and make sure I exercise each day!  I don't want to get in trouble at our next appt.

Maternity clothes: Pants yes.  I can't actually fit in them now!

Sleep: Fine I suppose.  I can't seem to sleep past 6am though.  This is kind of gross but I wake up sweating so much!!!  Apparently, I am a furnace now!

Best moment last week: Our U/S and seeing our healthy baby girl, Ava.

Movement: I'm starting to notice a pattern.  Early in the morning I feel her slightly, mid-day after lunch she does her daily flutter kicks, and around 9pm.  It's the most amazing thing. Makes me smile every time!

Cravings: None really that I can think of.  ODD!

Belly Button in or out: Slowly creeping closer to the surface.

What I miss:  Sometimes I feel like this body is someone else's.  Each time I pass a mirror (not hard to do when they line the walls of my gym!) I think WHO IS THAT???  But it is worth it!

What I am looking forward to: More actual kicks and less flutters.  Although, I will probably regret this later!

Milestones: It is all down hill now!

How is daddy? He talks to Ava each night.  I think its so sweet and touching.  The neat thing to me is I have NO IDEA what he says to her.  Its like his and her time!  I love it.  Already Daddy's little girl!

Tough Decisions!

(Singing in my best Digital Underground voice)
"The Humpty Dance is your chance to do the humpDo the Humpty Hump, come on and do the Humpty HumpDo the Humpty Hump, just watch me do the Humpty HumpDo ya know what I'm doin', doin' the Humpty HumpDo the Humpty Hump, do the Humpty Hump"

Happy Wednesday.  Now that we know we are having a baby GIRL, now we have some serious decisions to make.
HOW DO WE DECORATE THE NURSERY?!?!?!  See tough decisions that could impact our Baby Ava's life  in a great way or lead to therapy one day.

I have this vision in my head and it is kind of hard to put it into reality.
Here are some things we are leaning towards right now.
*White walls with some sort of splash of color.  Not sure about polkas sprinkled about or what.  Any suggestions???

*Bedding.  (Without the wall monkeys.) Rosenberry Rooms

*The crib that is a possibility.
Target

Thoughts and Opinions welcomed!!

Here is travel system that I want.  It is the best of both worlds for me.  I wish it was a little more girly, but hey Clint will be pushing it too.  Plus, she will be all girl inside the system!!!

The one question that we aren't sure of, is what do we buy now and what do we register for and see if we get at our Baby Showers?!?!  (I'm not being greedy or expect people to buy things for us, but when you have showers there is that reality that people bring gifts.  What would you buy yourself and what would you wait and see???

Have a great Wednesday!!!!

Our BIG appt. deets!!!

Ok, whew!  I finally have a little time to talk about our BIG day  this past Thursday.  First, of all this week went kind of slow of course.  I didn't sleep well at night because I was so anxious.  It was like waiting for Christmas when you are 8 years old.  I'm so glad the appt was at 8am and we didn't have to wait all day for it!

I had to have a full bladder for the ultrasound.  It helps the sound waves, so things are more clear.  They tell you to drink 2 12oz of liquid but not milk.  I drank a bottle water about an hour before and about 1/2 cup or watered down OJ to get Baby F up and at 'em.

We get in the little room and the tech says, "wow that is a full bladder!"  Um yes ma'am I KNOW!!!!  So she starts the picture process and is telling us what she is seeing.  I immediately start crying. It is the most amazing experience to see the baby and all the parts.  When we started the baby's head was up under my belly button.  About 5 minutes later, a complete flip a roo and the head was down by my bladder.  How amazing that that happened and I didn't feel it. I was just in such awe at the whole experience.

The tech did ask if we wanted to know the sex. Please and thank you ma'am!  She went searching for the best butt shot she could and said, "its a cute little girl!"  MORE TEARS!

She is weighing in a 9oz and her heartbeat was 141.  The exact same number as 4 weeks ago!  Amazing!

We were asked if we wanted to see her 3D.  Well, we have always kind of thought that 3D was kind of creepy looking, but I said what the heck!  She turned on the 3D whatever and started taking pictures of her.  She apparently is like her mama and ate up all the facial camera time! She was still and cooperative.  I love having my picture taken.  Like mother like daughter.  AWWW how amazing.  We will have a daughter.  I am tearing up right now!!!  We are so blessed!!!!

The tech finished up and said I could empty my bladder.  I asked her if I should because I had to go upstairs to see the doc and give a pee sample.  She said, "I don't think you can wait that long!"  haha  We all laughed because she wsa right.  I was going to explode.  (Don't worry, I still had plenty to share for the sample!)

My doc had to schedule a surgery, so I had a substitute doc that was in the practice.  We did the usual, pee in a cup, get your weight and blood pressure.  I was up 7lbs and my blood pressure was 116/80.  Now I didn't gain any weeks 9-15.  The doc comes in and says "I see you have had a little weight gain.  You are about 3lbs over where we would like to see you right now.  We recommend 10lbs and you are at 13!!
Wait WHAT?!?!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

I then explain to her that I am a personal trainer, still eating healthy, ONLY eating desserts once or twice on the weekends and still doing cardio everyday and weights 3-4 days per week.  She asked if I drink a lot of juice or coke.  HEY LADY!  ARE YOU LISTENING TO THE WORDS THAT ARE COMIN OUTTA MY MOUTH??!!?(in my best Chris Tucker voice!)
I don't do any of that.  Clint chimes in and says "no really she eats healthy and exercises.

She proceeds to tell me that some women have spurts of gain and then weeks of no gain!  (Hey that's ME!!) Also, to keep lifting weights and doing cadrio because her patients that do bounce back quicker!  Yeah I'm not an idiot lady!!!

To put it mildly, she pissed Clint and I both off and are glad she is not our doctor.  I am going to tell my doc in 4 weeks that I was not happy with her "complaining" about 3lbs!  Give me a break!  So of course we were thrilled to hear our baby girl news, that just CHAFED MY HIDE ALL DAY!!!  I know that in reality and truth I am doing all I can for a healthy baby and for me, but am worried I my gainage.  That stupid lady!!!  Sheesh!!!! Ok, so I'm still no over it, but I am trying!  Some things just stick in your crawl for longer than others.

Ok back to puppies and rainbows.  Clint and I made our calls and told everyone the news and we have very excited family and friends.

For the name!!!!!  We fell in love with AVA QUINN and that is what is going to stick!  It is such a relief having an identity to the growing human in your belly and calling her a her or her name instead of the "baby" or "it".

We are over the moon and can now start talking about baby essentials.  We are thinking a white nursery with white furniture with the bedding and accessories bright colors like pinks, tangerines, yellows.  I don't want her to just have a pink room, but lots of happy colors!!!

Thank y'all for all the congrats!!!  We really appreciate them all.  Y'all are part of my family!!!

Series:Things women don't tell you #2

In my best Fat Albert voice!!  I hope everyone's week is going great so far!  At least Monday is OVA!  I had a busy busy weekend!  Saturday I worked and then hung out with some of my best girl friends!  We are all in one of the girl's weddings in April!  Yes I will be 24 weeks pregnant.  I have to get fitted for my dress 2 weeks before so we hope that it fits.  The dress consultant assured me that getting a size 10
(I'm usually a 0-2) would be suffient!  I'm still a wee bit leery about it, but she has been through this before so I have no choice but to trust her!

Sunday was COMPLETELY slammed.  Church, lunch meeting about the renovations to the church nursery, helped through a baby shower and then small groups that night!  Whew!  I'm tired again just thinking about all I did!

I have been thinking about all of the posts to write about in this series I have come up with and thought it would be best to talk about things that have just happened or currently happening!

Today's big topic reveal is...
BUYING NEW UNDERWEAR!!!!!
Buying new draws was the LAST thing I would think about adding to my growing body's wardrobe.  We all know you will need new pants and tops and bras with the extreme growage of the bubbies!  But, NO ONE tells you that your underwear will start cutting off the circulation to your legs!  Let me tell ya, that is not comfortable!
There are different types of maternity panties, but who actually wants to go buy those?!?!  So, I just have been buying a size bigger and putting them on is like the cold side of the pillow!  Glorious!  haha it is amazing the things I get excited about days! I never thought it would be a bigger size of panties!!

Have a great rest of the day!!!
