Hidey-ho!! As the week is drawing to a close, a new week is beginning in Baby F's life!!! Here. We. Go.
How far along? 18ish
How big is baby? Average size: 5.6 inches, 6.7 oz. A glorious Sweet TATA!!!
What is baby doing this week? thebump.com says "Your fetus has become amazingly mobile (at least compared to you), passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking and swallowing. And, baby's finally big enough that you'll be able to feel those movements soon."
What is going on in mama? Babyzone.com says "By now you're feeling your baby-to-be wiggle inside you. The excitement surrounding her first movements will probably help you forget some of your pregnancy woes. As your tummy continues to expand you may notice stretch marks and have itchy skin. Your back will ache as your body adjusts to its new alignment. Thankfully, nausea is mostly likely a distant memory."
I am definatley growing that's for sure. The women who didn't know I was pregnant at my gym, were in full comment force this week. Apparently, I got pregnant overnight! Whoo-hoo no more chubby monkey!
Symptoms: Non to speak of that are significant.
Total weight gain: Not sure yet. I will find out at our next appt. I am expected a growth spurt on the scale though, since last visit stayed the same as the appt. before.
Maternity clothes: They ones I ordered last week will be here TOMORROW!! SO excited!
Sleep: I had my first night of pregnant insomnia last night. It's weird because I can usually fall asleep if I lay still long enough ANYWHERE!
Best moment last week: Drum roll please........I felt the baby. Last Friday, I was at a health council mtg and I felt this light thump 3 times. I wasn't sure and didn't want to get my hopes up, but I told Clint. You hear that it feels like flutters. What the Heck does a flutter feel like?!?! My personal experience description would be You know when you get an itch in the roof of your mouth that you can't find or scratch. Think about that inside your belly! It is the weirdest and most AMAZING feeling!!!
Movement: YES!!!!
Cravings: No new ones this week really. I'm pretty much a creature of habit!
Belly Button in or out: Still in! Going to the shallow end of the pool though!
What I miss: Nada this week! It's too amazing of an experience to miss anything
What I am looking forward to: Seeing my 3 best friends this weekend. One of them is getting married in April and I am in the wedding!! EEEK!!!! Our next appt!! Gender reveal!! Having Clint feel the baby!
Milestones: Finally feeling Baby F move!
How is daddy? Literally counting down hours until we find out the sex next Thursday!
This world may be full of ups and downs, but with God, family, happiness, and health, it is such a great ride!

Series:Things that other women don't tell you!
Hey chickies! Happy Hump day! I mean that about the week and for your relationship!
Go get him girls!!!! Well, I have been so excited to blog these days. After my Serious Susie post, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders and I can't stop thinking about different kinds of posts to put up. I am starting the "Things other women don't tell you" series about surprises of pregnancy. I am also going to post "how to eat healthy while pregnant" post here in the near future as well. This was a great, great idea by Newly Pregnant in NYC! Fun things coming up. Now, onto the meat!
We all know that some women get morning sickness or nausea and some don't. There is no rhyme or reason to this really. The Old Wives' Tale about having morning sickness or not can't really predict the gender of the baby. Well, the stats don't really support it. We also know about the sore boobs. Well, some do. I was aware but hadn't had problems with my barely there bubbies. (Thanks for the wordage, Teresa!) Until, 2 days after my mom asked if I had had them. "Nah!" I said. I spoke too soon. Two days later, getting in the shower was torture. I felt like the shower head was a weapon of masas destruction as BB's were pelting my chest! NOT FUN!
(BEWARE! MAYBE TMI FOR SOME, BUT WE SHOULDN'T BE WEIRDED OUT BY OUR AMAZING BABY CARRYING BODIES.)
One of the things I DIDN'T know would happen (but am finding out there are many things) is EXTREME AMOUNTS OF DISCHARGE! Now, it is common knowledge that when we ovulate we tend to have excess discharge. Girls, that is nothing! When I got pregnant, I also got MASSIVE amounts of discharge. This is actually a common thing with pregnancy, but NO ONE tells you how much and that you will need to buy stock in panty liners because otherwise you just feel gross and gooey!
Who else has experienced this?? If not, the panty liner company will still stay in business because of me.
These posts are about my experiences and what COULD happen. I just want to be honest with women about the joys, the "man this sucks", and the body surprises you MIGHT encounter.
Check back tomorrow for my WEEKLY UPDATE!!!
I have to go stir the white chicken chili! Yum!

ICLW week
Welcome to my humble cyber-abode. I have not been able to participate in ICLW week in a few months, but I am the quite excited mama. I love a good "excuse" to read new blogs.
For the regulars, thank you so much for the sweet and honest comments about my Serious Susie post. As well as the wonderful comments about my ever-growing belly! I loved them. I am proud of my belly and the "hard work"(well not so hard of work than it was fun) to get to this point. Saturday belly picture day is my favorite time. As soon as Clint gets up Saturday mornings, I am handing him the camera to take my belly mug shot.
I think I am going to start doing some posts about what other women DON'T tell you about pregnancy. There is SO much that women don't talk about and the weird things your body does. I know everyone's experience is different and all the weirdies don't happen to all pregnant women, but somewhere out there some woman will understand what is going on with me and my experience. If nothing else, I want women to be aware of what COULD happen to you when this blessing is building in your belly.
Have a great Monday!!!!

Serious Susie
Happy Friday Ladies! I love Fridays. They are my favorite day of the week because they hold so much promise for the weekend!
I have been debating whether or not to talk about this on the blog, but my great friend Egg, helped me to decide that it is important. I started this blog to write about mine and Clint's lives, our battle with IF, and any other random stuff I wanted to talk about. Blogging is like therapy and I haven't been treating it that way because of worry and being a scaredy-cat.
When we got pregnant, most of my bloggy-friends were/are still dealing with IF and I felt/sometimes feel guilty. I know how hard it is to hear of yet another woman who it worked for this time. It sucks. I didn't want to be that woman who rubbed it in and gloated about all of the symptoms and experiences and heaven forbid I was to complain. Why would I blog about some silly complaint when SOOO many couples have been and still are trying to get pregnant? So, because of that I have kept this blog pretty upbeat. (It actually has been a pretty great pregnancy so far!)
I apologize in advance if my honest experiences offend anyone or make you want to stop reading my blog, but I need to get the goods and bads out of my system and out through my fingers before I explode!
Like I said earlier, this pregnancy has been pretty good. I had constant nausea and bloat, but it is part of it. I never complained about it, I just found what I could eat and pushed through. The past month I have felt great. My energy is back, no headaches, no sickness, (unless I eat something that doesn't agree with Baby F), no bad symptoms.
The past week, I have hit this place that yes things are great, but I am in the in-between stage. My pants aren't fitting right anymore and I'm not big enough for maternity pants. I have also hit the point to where all food is pretty much edible and tolerable for me and that is weird. Being a health nut and personal trainer, I have a responsibility to myself and others I see to keep up a healthy and fit persona. So when a craving hits or I allow myself dessert 3 days in row, I start to feel guilty that I'm slacking! I have a pity party or a little cry and then I think I AM PREGNANT! It is ok for me to splurge a little, since when I am not I RARELY splurge. I also think I need to up my food intake a bit, since the past few days I have been so hungry, but have only eaten what I have brought to the gym with me for the day. So by the time I get home I am HANGRY and need to eat ASAP. I am going to work on this.
I again apologize for the content of this post, and the slight complaining and seriousness. I needed this for me. I need to post about real things going on in Courtney's head. I want to keep all of my readers, but do understand if you think "she is so selfish or how could she complain when she is one of the one's pregnant?!" I have thought that stuff about others too. Pregnancy is such a BLESSING and I wouldn't trade if for anything, but there are ups and downs just like with marriage. I know you wouldn't give up your hubby's for anything, but there are ups and downs that are real and need to be dealt with. This is how I deal.
*I am posting belly pics tomorrow!!!!! You won't believe the difference!

17 ish weeks!
Hey hey hey ladies. We are at 17ish weeks! At first it was slowly creeping along, but these past few weeks have started to pick up speed. Tomorrow, I am posting a semi serious post that I have been debating on whether or not to, but we will deal with that then. Here is the best part of my week and that is the updates!!
How far along? 17+
How big is baby?Average size: 5.1 inches, 5.9 oz. An onion! Good thing Baby F doesn't smell like one!
What is baby doing this week? thebump.com says that Baby F's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.
What is going on in mama? Babyzone.com says that daily, your body's changing inside and out to accommodate your baby-to-be. As your skin stretches, your breasts and abdomen may become itchy. Your baby bump will begin to change your posture so that your back may ache. Inside your body, your stomach is getting more cramped, sometimes leading to heartburn, indigestion, and flatulence. You may also notice mood swings as pregnancy hormones continue to play with your emotions.
Symptoms: Flatulence is a big one! Other than that, I still feel great.
Total weight gain: Not sure since my last check up 2 weeks ago. I only weigh on doc visits so I don't completely stress myself out.
Maternity clothes: I bought 2 pairs this morning from Old Navy. They have a huge sale ending today, so I took advantage. I can't wait until they get here.
Sleep: Weird and crazy dreams, but sleeping ok!
Best moment last week: A new woman at the gym and I were talking and the subject of kids came up. She asked if I had any and I said, "we will in July." She looked at me crazy and said, "This July?" I wanted to say "nope next July, I'm like an elephant." (I didn't) I said, "this July." She said, "well you don't look like it!" Oh bless you new lady! So I was super thrilled to here that!
Movement: Not sure. They say it feels like flutters, fish swimming in your belly, and bubbles. I have NO IDEA what I am feeling. I want something to happend soon though!
Cravings: Still Ketchup and now Froot Loops cereal! Yummy. I am keeping these to a minimum though.
Belly Button in or out: Still in! Although, getting shallower. ( is that a word?)
What I miss: The only thing I miss is being able to work out balls to the wall and feel great after a good sweaty, exhausting workout. I am enjoying just walking each day on the treadmill to get a semi sweat in, but after Baby F gets here is is GAME ON!
What I am looking forward to: Getting our kitchen done this weekend!
Milestones: None that I know this week.
How is daddy? Very supportive in my emotional breakdowns and quick to feed me when I get irritable!
We find out the sex March 4th!! 14 days and counting!!!!

16 weeks
I have been such a bad blogger. I have not been posting as much as I want to. I need to fix that ASAP, before I start losing bloggy friends.
Without further ado....
How far along?16+
How big is baby? Avocado. Our little guacamole is 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces.
What is baby doing this week? According to Baby Center, get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. His/her legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
What is going on in mama?
Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being.
Soon you'll experience one of the most wonderful moments of pregnancy — feeling your baby move. While some women notice "quickening" as early as 16 weeks, many don't feel their baby move until about 18 weeks or more. (And if this is your first baby, don't be too impatient — you may not be aware of your baby's movements until 20 weeks or so.) The earliest movements may feel like little flutters, gas bubbles, or even like popcorn popping. Over the following weeks they'll grow stronger and you'll be able to feel them much more frequently.
Symptoms: None really. I am feeling GREAT these days!
Total weight gain: 6lbs still! I am on schedule for the 20-30 total my doc recommends.
Maternity clothes: I need to buy more jeans. The maternity pair I have are hand me downs. I had to retire a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans yesterday. They were just not comfortable any more even with the BellaBand.
Sleep: Good sleeps going on these days!
Best moment last week: A lady from church gave us baby clothes. Boy and Girl just in case. We will give the clothes of the sex we aren't having to one of our many friends with babies on the way or here already.
Movement: No, but I am anticipating the "flutters" that should be coming any time.
Food cravings: KETCHUP!! I put it on EVERYTHING. I didn't typically use it at ALL, until the last week. I have went through a bottle this past week! Crazy! Oh and I had my first regular hamburger and fries from McDonald's today in about 10 years. It was the best tasting thing I have eaten today!!!
Belly Button in or out: Still in!
What I miss: Not a dang thing.
What I am looking forward to: Buying more maternity things and going on a Pre-Valentine's date with Clint Friday night! Any suggestions??
Milestones: Having to retire jeans.
How is daddy? The best husband in my world! We are both really enjoying the new bod actually!!! (wink wink)
What are Valentine's plans this weekend????

Doc appt and weekly checkin!
Happy Thursday!! We started our day off to a great start with a doctor visit! It is a 15 week appt today and we had no idea what it would involve. (Well, I did know I have to share a sample of pee and get my blood pressure taken.) That was all I knew.
Our nurse took her sample and check my blood pressure and weight. Weight hasn't went up any. I don't know if it was the stomach virus (probably not since I ate us out of house and home the weekend after!).
The Dr. B comes in. Oh yay! I didn't expect to see her. She had me lay down on the table and got the dopplar out. It took all of a minute to find our strong Baby F's heartbeat (141) and then she took a measurement from my belly button to somewhere (not sure exactly) and I measured at 16. I am supposed to be 15 weeks today, but am measuring closer to 16!!!! Our due date will probably be moved it Baby F keeps this up.
I then asked her when I feel my belly, what I am actually supposed to be feeling for. Ladies on thebump.com say that it feels hard and I am far enough along that my uterus has poked out from being behind my pubic bone. She felt my belly and said, " do you feel that ball like thing?" Me: um no maam. She took my hand and i felt the top of my uterus slope down. It is already about 1/2in below my belly button!!! WOW!
We made our anatomy u/s for MARCH 4th!!!! 28 days and we get to put a name to Baby F!!!
Ok for the update!
How far along?15+
What is going on in mama? This is what babyzone.com has to say about me. Internal organs are shifting positions to make room for your baby-to-be. Less room means you may not be able to eat large meals, but instead you'll need to eat more frequently to stay satisfied. Because of cramped tummy space, you may have heartburn, indigestion, and flatulence. Your blood flow has increased to provide extra nutrients—meaning more trips to the bathroom for you. You may also notice that you're retaining water.
While your pregnancy clumsiness may be frustrating, at least you have something to show for it! Your belly grows day by day as your unborn baby gets bigger. If you haven't bought maternity pants yet, you're probably thinking about it as you can barely button your jeans.
Pregnancy Brain
Dropped anything lately? Tripped over nothing? Forget something you always remember—like the date? You may be experiencing a common complaint in pregnancy—scatterbrain. "Some of my patients call it 'placenta brain,'" says Dr. Joanne Motino Bailey, PhD, a certified nurse-midwife and a professor of women's studies at the University of Michigan. While there are no studies to support the existence of pregnancy scatterbrain, notes Dr. Bailey, there are some changes in your body which may account for your sudden clumsiness.
Changing center of gravity: The first reason you may be stumbling is obvious—you're getting bigger. As your belly grows outward, your whole center of gravity is thrown. After walking perfectly for years, your body now has to constantly realign itself to keep you upright—no wonder you're tripping.
While your baby-to-be is well cushioned in your belly, falling wouldn't be good for either of you. Opt for sneakers or flats instead of high heels. Take stairs slowly. And be mindful of your movements to avoid any serious spills.
Retaining water: Another reason you may think your losing your mind—your gripping sensation may be different because you're retaining water. Your swollen fingers may make it more difficult to pick something up. (Think about how much harder it is to grab something up with fuzzy gloves on.)
Loosened joints: For your belly to house your growing baby, your skin, muscles, and joints stretch and loosen. A pregnancy hormone, appropriately called relaxin, triggers this change. Just like you need to keep in mind your changing center of gravity, remember that your muscles aren't as tight as in pre-pregnancy days—take it easy!
Fatigue: "We all know that we're not at our best when we're tired," says Dr. Bailey. "During pregnancy your body is under a great deal of stress, but it's hard to take the time out for an extra hour of sleep, which is really what you need." So it's not surprising that your constant state of tiredness may leave you not as sharp as in pre-pregnancy days.
You may be now experiencing the happiest pregnancy symptom of all—your baby is most likely a regular wiggler now! You may begin to feel a fluttering in your uterus.
Symptoms: I actually feel really good. Not tired (as much), no headaches, no nausea, random hunger.
Total weight gain: 6 lbs total. Doc is completely ok with this. Granted IT WILL COME!!
Maternity clothes: Yes, and they are so comfy.
Sleep: No complaints.
Best moment last week: Being able to eat without my stomach getting mad at me!
Movement: Not yet. I am anxious though!
Food cravings: No cravings. Actually, if you put food in front of me I will eat it, but if you ask me what I WANT to eat, I have the slightest idea. Taking food for the whole day is a daunting task in the morning. I just throw random healthy eats into my bag and eat when I am hungry.
Belly Button in or out: Still in!
What I miss: NOTHING
What I am looking forward to: Road trip with Clint this weekend. The destination is a wedding and to see his sis, but I love just getting away with Clint. Taking advantage of every opportunity!!
Milestones: No yucky symptoms!
How is daddy? He is good! The virus whipped my butt for three days and only his for about a day and a half! We started putting lotion on my belly and that has become his task! I want him to be involved as much as possible!
How big is baby? A navel orange. Average size: 4 inches, 2.5 oz.
What is baby doing this week? Baby F's bones are continuing to grow and lengthen. While he/she looks more like a baby, his/her skin is still thin and translucent with her veins visible. baby F is also beginning to grow lanugo, a very fine hair. It will keep growing until around the 26th gestational week of pregnancy (that's week 28 of your pregnancy).

Update on Isaac and Eli
If you didn't read my first post about Isaac and Eli, you can go back to catch up. B went to the doc yesterday and Eli isn't getting any better. They went in for more testing this morning and there is an 75-80% chance that both boys will make it if they deliver them early. B & C thought the chances were better than letting things run its course. (Eli could die any day with his heart.) They are admitting B into the hospital and will deliver the boys this afternoon or tonight. Please be thinking about this amazing couple and the 2 bundles of joy that will be brought into this world early at 27w3d!
Thanks ladies!!
EDIT: THEY ARE HERE. THEY BOTH CAME OUT SCREAMING(GREAT SIGN). ISAAC IS 2LBS 4OZ AND ELI IS 1LB 3OZ. B IS DOING GREAT, BUT NOW THEY ALL HAVE A LONG ROAD STILL BEFORE THEY WILL GET TO BRING THE BOYS HOME.
