Ok, whew! I finally have a little time to talk about our BIG day this past Thursday. First, of all this week went kind of slow of course. I didn't sleep well at night because I was so anxious. It was like waiting for Christmas when you are 8 years old. I'm so glad the appt was at 8am and we didn't have to wait all day for it!
I had to have a full bladder for the ultrasound. It helps the sound waves, so things are more clear. They tell you to drink 2 12oz of liquid but not milk. I drank a bottle water about an hour before and about 1/2 cup or watered down OJ to get Baby F up and at 'em.
We get in the little room and the tech says, "wow that is a full bladder!" Um yes ma'am I KNOW!!!! So she starts the picture process and is telling us what she is seeing. I immediately start crying. It is the most amazing experience to see the baby and all the parts. When we started the baby's head was up under my belly button. About 5 minutes later, a complete flip a roo and the head was down by my bladder. How amazing that that happened and I didn't feel it. I was just in such awe at the whole experience.
The tech did ask if we wanted to know the sex. Please and thank you ma'am! She went searching for the best butt shot she could and said, "its a cute little girl!" MORE TEARS!
She is weighing in a 9oz and her heartbeat was 141. The exact same number as 4 weeks ago! Amazing!
We were asked if we wanted to see her 3D. Well, we have always kind of thought that 3D was kind of creepy looking, but I said what the heck! She turned on the 3D whatever and started taking pictures of her. She apparently is like her mama and ate up all the facial camera time! She was still and cooperative. I love having my picture taken. Like mother like daughter. AWWW how amazing. We will have a daughter. I am tearing up right now!!! We are so blessed!!!!
The tech finished up and said I could empty my bladder. I asked her if I should because I had to go upstairs to see the doc and give a pee sample. She said, "I don't think you can wait that long!" haha We all laughed because she wsa right. I was going to explode. (Don't worry, I still had plenty to share for the sample!)
My doc had to schedule a surgery, so I had a substitute doc that was in the practice. We did the usual, pee in a cup, get your weight and blood pressure. I was up 7lbs and my blood pressure was 116/80. Now I didn't gain any weeks 9-15. The doc comes in and says "I see you have had a little weight gain. You are about 3lbs over where we would like to see you right now. We recommend 10lbs and you are at 13!!
Wait WHAT?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
I then explain to her that I am a personal trainer, still eating healthy, ONLY eating desserts once or twice on the weekends and still doing cardio everyday and weights 3-4 days per week. She asked if I drink a lot of juice or coke. HEY LADY! ARE YOU LISTENING TO THE WORDS THAT ARE COMIN OUTTA MY MOUTH??!!?(in my best Chris Tucker voice!)
I don't do any of that. Clint chimes in and says "no really she eats healthy and exercises.
She proceeds to tell me that some women have spurts of gain and then weeks of no gain! (Hey that's ME!!) Also, to keep lifting weights and doing cadrio because her patients that do bounce back quicker! Yeah I'm not an idiot lady!!!
To put it mildly, she pissed Clint and I both off and are glad she is not our doctor. I am going to tell my doc in 4 weeks that I was not happy with her "complaining" about 3lbs! Give me a break! So of course we were thrilled to hear our baby girl news, that just CHAFED MY HIDE ALL DAY!!! I know that in reality and truth I am doing all I can for a healthy baby and for me, but am worried I my gainage. That stupid lady!!! Sheesh!!!! Ok, so I'm still no over it, but I am trying! Some things just stick in your crawl for longer than others.
Ok back to puppies and rainbows. Clint and I made our calls and told everyone the news and we have very excited family and friends.
For the name!!!!! We fell in love with AVA QUINN and that is what is going to stick! It is such a relief having an identity to the growing human in your belly and calling her a her or her name instead of the "baby" or "it".
We are over the moon and can now start talking about baby essentials. We are thinking a white nursery with white furniture with the bedding and accessories bright colors like pinks, tangerines, yellows. I don't want her to just have a pink room, but lots of happy colors!!!
Thank y'all for all the congrats!!! We really appreciate them all. Y'all are part of my family!!!
