Hockey and pancakes

Monday yuck!
Last week we were having unreal weather in January of temperatures in the high 60's/low 70's.
Today, it is only getting up to mid 30's!
Talk about a slap of cold wind!!

Our weekend was a good one!  I got up and ran 6.5 miles before breakfast and getting ready.  We had big plans!
If you live under a rock OR don't follow NHL hockey, they finally agreed on a contract and ended the lockout!  Saturday was an open skate and the team's first unofficial "practice".

Waiting on the players to come out.

They would skate out one at a time.

We were this close!!

After that we came home and Ava and I took a nap before we headed up to my best friend's mom's house for football and chili.
The girls ran around and played and we chatted, watched football and ate amazing chili and brats!  I love chili though!  I could eat it in winter or summer!

Sunday morning I got up and did another 6 mile run and my 3000 club:
 200 crunches, 40 burpees, 40 pushups

We got ready and headed out to church.

Another battery charging for the soul!!

It was pouring down rain, but we managed to go to Longhorn Steakhouse with my family and had a good lunch.

Since it was a rainy afternoon, we all napped!  Good stuff people!

Laundry, house cleaning and some more lounging happened before supper.
Pancakes were on the menu!
Yum!  You can't go wrong with pancakes!!

I took this morning off of running, since I've ran 6 days in a row, but I did do my 3000 club of 125 crunches, 40 pushups and 35 burpees.  Still trudging along doing those at 11 weeks pregnant!!  Love it!!

Have a great Monday!
See ya soon!

Day 21-2012

Saturday.  I didn't feel all that great with sinus crud still lingering, but knew I would feel better physically and mentally if I sucked it up and went to the gym.  So, that's what we did.
I ran 3 miles and listened to my body to stop then.  I did upper body and had a good weights session.
We had to stop by Toys R Us to get an in-store pickup of a great deal on diapers and ended up buying some crayons and another coloring book!
We were starving by now.  O'Charley's was next door.  Easy choice there!
Home for the afternoon to lounge around because later we had hockey tickets!
We hope you had a great day!!!

Such a ham

Hidey ho friends!  I hope you are all staying warm and able to dig out from where you live.  Sheesh, my heart goes out to the middle of the US.  Thankfully, it is just brutally cold here, but I can't even imagine the amount of snow y'all are dealing with!

Tuesday night we went to the Nashville Predators hockey game.  Clint's work buys tickets each year to show their appreciation, so we snatched up tickets.  There is a buffet of foods that you get a wristband to partake in it. All the food they had on the buffet was nachos, hotdogs, and popcorn.  This isn't my thing, but since we frequent Bridgestone Arena quite often I KNOW I can always get a grilled chicken sandwich!  (I can always find something on the healthy side wherever I go!)

Ava L.O.V.E.S. to watch hockey and football on tv, so seeing her watch it in real life is so funny.  She is so mesmerized.  Toward the 2nd period though she was "hamming" it up with the people behind us.
(Clint asked what being a ham meant.  According to http://www.audioenglish.net/,
 • HAM (noun)

The noun HAM has 4 senses
1. meat cut from the thigh of a hog (usually smoked)
2. (Old Testament) son of Noah
3. a licensed amateur radio operator
4. an unskilled actor who overacts
Familiarity information: HAM used as a noun is uncommon.
• HAM (verb)
The verb HAM has 1 sense:
1. exaggerate one's acting
Familiarity information: HAM used as a verb is very rare.

She was just a grinning and laughing.  Then she would do the mouth open gaping and staring.  She is definitely a "ham!" I told her it wasn't polite to stare (and not even blink) but its ok if she could look away every few seconds, haha!  It was bottle time in the 2nd intermission and my 3rd period she was sound asleep!  Bless her heart, its amazing that she can sleep through hockey!

Since we went to the gym Monday night, hockey Tuesday night and Clint plays church league basketball tonight, we decided it was family at home night last night!  We don't like to push too many nights of activities for us OR Ava.  Plus, we REALLY like to spend time together.  So since no gym last night, I decided I would workout at work!  Score!
Cardio:
Dreadmill-Alternating 5 min walking-3.5, 5% incline with 5 min jogging 6mph, 1%
Total 22 min
Weights:
Tangent: my boss got these
Ultimate 25 lb. SpeedWeightâ„¢ SetSource

for me to use for my Personal Training clients!  I am in lust!  They are so easy to use and work great!!  If I was to buy a set for the house, I would definitely get this set (or something similar).

Front squats-2x10 25lbs DBs
Combo:Bicep curls into Shoulder press-2x10, 15lb DBs
Machine:Abduction 2x20 45lbs (hips were screeeeaming!)
               Adduction 2x20 45lbs
Single arm rows 2x10 20lb DB
V-ups(3 way) 2x50

This was a very efficient and blood pumping workout!

Have you had an efficient and blood pumping workout lately??
Do you have any exercise equipment that you are in lust with these days??

Have a great day!!

Half birthday and meeting gym again

Good Morning!  I hope everyone is doing dandy and right as rain!

Yesterday was Ava's Half Birthday!  Yep 6 months old!  Sheesh, the time is flying.  I feel like being pregnant with her lasted FOR.EVER, but her being here is whizzing by us!

Her achievements so far:
She is sitting up all by herself for long amounts of time.
..........rolling all over the place.
When she is on her belly, turning around in circles.
When she is sitting up, she has started to lean over and reach and last night she did that and pulled herself closer to me.
We have eaten cereal, green beans, and squash so far.  Loves them all.  She reaches up like a baby bird for the spoon.  (next up is sweet potatoes and peas.)
Slobbering like a St. Bernard.  Her teeth are right.there!
Saying "mmmmmmmma" and lights up when we say "daddy."
She is looking up in her carseat to "look" at whoever is driving the Murano.

Wow, she is growing so fast!  I need to stop her!, Well, halt her a smidge at least!  She has her 6 month check up next week, so we will see if the sugar monkey has grown and how much she weighs.

Halloween Town

Happy Day after Halloween!  I hope everyone's Hallow's Eve was great.

We didn't hand out candy tonight.  I know bad cititzens that we are.  Our neighborhood is a circle, which would be a great Trick-or-Treating experience for the little tikes, BUT it is full of hills and our houses are set back into woods.  Not the best!

After training a client and getting a little cardio in myself, Clint and I came home and lounged.  I took over an hour nap.  That is just crazy for me!  I have been working a lot more lately and I guess my body decided it was time she took the reins.

I had to get rested up for this!

One of my husband's fun money spends is partial season tickets to the Nashville Predators.  With our "plan" we get to pick the seats we want for each game. So for a great game we sit lower to the rink and the not so hot games we sit up a bit higher.

When we first starting dating, I had no idea about hockey.  Well except for these guys.

Weren't those great movies.  It is one of those movies that you want to go do after you watch it, then you realize you are idiot if you think you can just pick up this sport.  HA.  I like my teeth thank you very much.  As my mom would say, "we spent a lot of month on that mouth."  Yeah I know!

Needless, to say I knew nothing.  Even to the point to where I would be people watching (Now that is my type of sport!) and actually miss goals because I wasn't paying a lick of attention.  And apparently there is this zone that Clint gets in while the puck is in play.  I would ask questions during this zone time.  Umm....no maam.  That's a no-no.  He isn't mean about it at all thank goodness, its just he doesn't hear me.  So I either figure out for myself or wait until the play is over to ask questions.

I have gotten to now where I really enjoy it. Especially the fights.  I am a girly girl at heart and I get so excited when they start hitting.  I scream and hoop and holler, when normally I clap here and there.

Last night there were so many people dressed up for the holiday.  We saw "blind refs", this guy was sitting right behind us. (no not the real Will Ferrell)

There were cute litte kids dressed up trick or treating around the arena and people wearing things that are ONLY acceptable on Halloween.  Well, maybe they shouldn't be.

We are not huge costume people so we dressed up like this.

Not especially festive, but cute!!

We are off to church this morning and then visiting MIL.  Her birthday is this week, so we are going to spend some time with her.  Have a great Sunday.

P.S.  I am on CD11 and nothing really to discuss, except my libido is in extreme high gear.  At least the husband can and wants to keep up. (wink wink!)
