This past Saturday was an event that we have been waiting on for a while. We chose to wait to take Ava to the movie theater until she could sit and maybe one day remember her first trip!
Saturday was the day! Cinderella was the perfect movie for her first experience.
Clint was working Saturday and my sister was able to watch Brody. We told her Friday night and I recorded it. It is a precious movie that I hope we are able to cherish for years to come. Such sweetness and excitement! Makes me smile just thinking about it!
We got up and went to the "workout gym" as she calls it and my sister met us to pick up Brody.
I asked her where she wanted to go to lunch and SONIC was the winner. It was a beautiful Spring day, so we sat out on the picnic tables and ate lunch.
Lunch was enjoyed and then it was time to go!! I wanted to get there early so we could take it all in. Go potty(we can't pause the movie, Ava) and eat some popcorn. (which was a big treat!)
The theater we chose to go to is this 1 movie theater in the next town over. I used to go there when I was little and the prices are cheap!
The lights went out and she got super excited in anticipation. We knew there was going to be a FROZEN cartoon about Anna's birthday, that we did NOT want to miss.
She liked it, but said it was too short! haha!
Cinderella was such a good movie. I recommend it! So magically and girly! Ava would sit in her seat, sit in my lap and repeat. We had to go to the bathroom once. She did really well and liked the movie!
I am so glad we were able to do this special event with just me and her. I am going to put her ticket stub in her "hope chest" and probably print out this post to put with it!
I want her to grow up and appreciate the little things in life. Her first movie was with her mama after eating lunch at Sonic and sharing popcorn in a one movie theater.
I want her to know that I will hold that day in my heart as one of our special moments!
This world may be full of ups and downs, but with God, family, happiness, and health, it is such a great ride!

Errand Tuesday
Good Morning!! The sun is shining and it is going to be a warm "Summery" day today!
Yesterday, Ava and I got up and did some coloring and cartoon watching and ate a little breakfast. Toast and an egg for me. I am still having a few issues, but so much better than I was. I know when to notice a problem coming on and handle it before it gets out of control.
I wanted to do some exercise yesterday, so I did a half Bodyrock workout to give my body a little wake up call. Then, I ran an easy 1 mile on the treadmill. Still want to go easy on the treadmill, since running can cause the intestines to move around quite a bit. Tomorrow, I am going to try 3 miles and see how that does.
Ava and I got ready. I made lunch for Clint and made us a juice to take on the road and some snacks for Ava. We headed out for a busy day.
We took Clint some lunch (Ava was asleep), said a quick hi and headed to Green Hills Mall. This mall is the "fancy shmancy" mall in Nashville.
Dillard's was having a great sale on kid's clothes, so I bought Ava 3 outfits, that "Santa" will bring her for Christmas. Hey, you can never start too early shopping for Christmas.
I looked for some dresses for my brother's rehearsal dinner, but found none that I really liked.
We then headed to Charming Charlie's. This is the cutest most cost effective way to shop for all accessories. My mom's birthday is tomorrow, so I volunteered to shop for my brother and dad for her gifts. Yea twist my arm to go shop with someone else's money!! It was so fun. But hard! Hard because I had Ava's stroller, a bag from Dillard's, alternating holding 2 boxes of shoes and jewelry and Ava. All while trying to get her to eat her lunch. Sheesh, forget bodyrock. This was a way harder workout.

Sorry for the sideways picture!!
Then we headed to this heaven on earth!

ugh!
We have decided to budget in a Trader Joe's trip once a month. I have been before a long time ago, before I was super health conscious. We had so much fun in there!! I could have spend WAY more, but reigned it in! I can't wait until next month!!
Our next stop was picking up something that Clint needed for work and then on to TJMAXX. I tried on a few dresses but none that I loved, so we walked out empty handed.
Supper (for Clint, because I ate some Pita Chips from Trader Joe's that were AMAZING, but were not sitting well in my belly) was marinaded chicken with homemade healthier red potato salad.
I chopped up 4 red potatoes and boiled them in a pot of water until they were soft. About 30minutes. I drained them and let them continue to drain and cool for about 20 minutes, while I folded laundry.
I put them in a mixing bowl and mixed in 3tbsp light mayo, about 3tbsp mustard, 2 tbsp green onions, dash of salt, freshed cracked pepper and seasoning salt. I tasted it and it was pretty darn good!
The HIGHLIGHT of my day, was when Clint was taking Ava to bed, she said "love you". She has told Clint "love you" twice and I was waiting for my moment! It happened and no sweeter words were spoken!! My heart grew 3x it size!!
What was the highlight of your day??
Have a great day and I'll see you soon!!

Day 15-2012
Sunday. Well, Clint did not feel better this morning and I didn't feel my best. We stayed home from church and Clint had an on again off again fever all day long. I had a horrible headache most of the day. Ava was perfectly fine!
It was a lounge around all day kind of day. I did get in a home lower body workout in the morning and washed the sheets and comforter. We watched Damages, football (Ava's first compound word yesterday!), Property Virgin and some other non important lounge around the house shows.
Sadly, there wasn't much going on. I made Clint drink fluids, Emergen-C, and we went and got him his sick "medicine", chocolate ice cream. That is what he wants when he is sick. I don't know where that came from when he was growing up, but he has to have chocolate ice cream each time he is sick.
I start my new job tomorrow. I am really nervous about it. Although (my friend Eva reminded me of this) this is where I feel God wants me right now in my life, so I know he will take care of everything on my first day! I just have to relax and trust him to handle my nerves!
I hope you had a great day!

Without a plan I am lost!
It's Friday, weeeeee!
Another work is almost in the books.
Have you had a great and productive week?
I have been busy busy.
Ava's birthday party is tomorrow and her birthday is Sunday!
Ava's birthday party is tomorrow and her birthday is Sunday!
1 year old! Sheesh, lady! Slow down!
A little recap of the past few days:
Wednesday was work. I got in a quick kettlebell workout in between patients. (Gotta use your time wisely!)
20lb KB Swings 2x20
20lb KB Single leg deadlifts 2x10/leg
17lb KB Lateral lunge into single arm shoulder press 2x10/side
17lb Russian ab twists 2x30
My traps were sorrre yesterday!
Instead of going to the gym, we decided to take Ava to my parent's pool. I thought, "hey I can run home after." My parents live 3.8 miles or so away. Looking at the temp and seeing it was still 96 degrees at 6pm, I decided I am not stupid and I can just not run! Best decision!
Yesterday was a busy day!! Work, lunch meeting with the local franchise owner of the the super fun and healthy Freshii. If one is close you have to go, like NOW!!!
I made a quick trip to GNC for Fenugreek. (If you are breastfeeding or going to, check this out! It has helped me immensely!)
I had my shopping lists, coupons, and errands all laid out. Clint dropped Ava and me off at the gym while he went to get a haircut. Sidenote, I LOVE a fresh haircut on him. OMG!
He said he would text me when he got in the chair and I would have about 20 minutes after that.
EEEEEK!
I gotta get on it.
I did a tempo run of 4 miles in 34:28 min! Pretty good!
I went and did a quick rinse off and change and then we were off.
CVS.
Hobby Lobby.
Panera Bread
Walmart.
Whew.
I have a few last minute things to pick up for the party tomorrow, but in all most everything has been bought and is ready to be made or decorated.
Many pictures will be taken don't worry!
Any big plans this weekend??
Have a great day!!!

Special moment
Happy Hump day in Blogland!
How are y'all?
I didn't make it to the gym Monday night. It was either the gym or groceries. Plus I couldn't leave the groceries in my 102 degree Murano for an hour. So, groceries won!
I did save $58 at Kroger though! Oh yea!
Yesterday, was my day off. I dropped Ava off at my parent's at 6am and went for a run on their road. They have a great road to run on.
8 miles in 1:10ish minutes. That last mile though was a toughy. But I was bound and determined to finish the 8 I had planned.
I went home to clean the house and shower and then went back to my parent's house to pick up my mom and Ava. During the school year, my mom and Ava go to a Tuesday morning bible class with some ladies at church. Yesterday, was a potluck lunch for the class and I decided to go with them. It was a hodge podge of food of course, but it was neat to see the little older ladies doting on Ava!
After lunch, we all went on our next errand. I had a much needed dental cleaning. My aunt works at my dentist office and she showed Ava off at the office. Needless to say she was very well spoiled yesterday.
When we go home Ava had a much needed nap and I devoured some peanut butter! With more running, I crave the PB like no other. My body seems to want fat.
Can you tell when your body needs something in the disguise of a craving?
In other news, I bet you are wondering why this post is named "Special Moment?!"
Well, this happened!
She is now mobile and everywhere. It was a light bulb moment that she decided to leave the ottoman and toddle on by herself. Our baby is growing up so fast!!!
Have a great day!!

Weekend recap Monday!
Hidey!
I hope you had a great weekend. Our's was busy as usual and flew by.
Friday night was Clint's last softball games of the season before tournaments. It was crazy hot and then it started to POUR down rain. Thankfully, it was toward the end of his second game, but the walk to the car was a wet one! Plus, I forgot to take the dirtyyyy diaper with me that I had changed when we got to the park. Needless to say, rain=no windows down to air out the car!
Saturday, was busy. Gym time! I have had sinus crud the past few days, but struggled through 5 miles on the tread and 20 minutes of sauna time while Clint played wallyball. We were meeting Clint's dad and girlfriend at Genghis Grill at 12:30, so we had about an hour to kill. To the mall it is. Ava pushed her stroller the entire walk in the mall. That is a fat for those little legs. We tried to get her to ride in the stroller, but she was bound and determined. Lunch was great and then we hit up Maggie Moo's for ice cream. Wow, that was good. We then went home because our daughter was a cranky pants McGee. She has 3 teeth that have broke through and bless her heart is not her happy self, well until she gets orajel!
Sunday, was busy. Church and then lunch at my parent's house to celebrate my brother's birthday and Clint's as well. (His is today!) We lounged at my parent's pool for a bit and then took Ava home. There was a MUCH needed nap in her future! We just lounged around the house and I picked up the house some. My best friend dropped by to return some things they had borrowed and told us for Ava's birthday she wants to give us her 1 year pictures! We were going to get her to do them for a fee. She is an amazing photographer! But she decided she wanted to do this for us and Ava. I was so overwhelmed, I teared up!
Today is Clint's birthday. Of course his presents are shipped but probably won't get here today, ugh! Ava and I made him a card. She COLORED! (It made his morning.) I made him pancakes before he left for work, which are his fave! Tonight, I will make supper of steak(for him), salad, and baked potato. Chocolate eclair is for dessert. Easy, but oh so good. I had planned on running at the gym this afternoon, but I don't know if that will happen since I need to go to the grocery store and make supper and his dessert. We shall see. I really want to run, but you know how plans don't always work out. I did do weights this morning.
15lb DBs-Straight leg deadlifts 2x10
15lb DBs-Bicep curls into shoulder presses 2x10
15lb DBs- Single leg deadlifts 2x10
1-15lb DB-Front raises 2x10
BW-Single leg sits to bench 2x10/leg
50 pushups.
I made a promise to myself that I would make an effort to pray each day and do 50 total pushups. I have been praying everyday, but I have missed one day of pushups! Pretty good so far!
How was your weekend??
Have a great day!

HI!!!!
I am alive!!
Our work has been moving buildings and setting up into a brand new building for the last few weeks and I JUST got my internet in my brand new office with WINDOWS!! Can I tell you how wonderful it is to have windows?!?! My day is so much more enjoyable at work since I can actually SEE what is going on outside. I didn't realize how unhappy I was in my closet office until I got the new one!
So I am back to blogging! YAY!!! I wasn't even able to check my Google Reader. I do that at work, because let's face it I just DO NOT have time when I am not at work! I think at one point I have over 2000 unread posts!! How overwhelming, so I did the only thing I knew I could do and feel ok with it and that was MARK AS READ!!! I am sorry I did not read all of your posts, but I would have to read blogs constantly for DAYS just to catch up.
In other news, Ava took her 1st steps(2) at the GYM!! I was thrilled! SHE IS MY DAUGHTER! Not that I was questioning it! I was there after all! Clint didn't see it, he missed it by a minute, but she took 2 more for him the next day! Although, she has taken those steps, she still hasn't figured out she can do it. Oh well, I am in NO HURRY for her to start prancing around.
Prancing=mama and daddy chasing!
My running has been pretty good with an arm workout scattered here and there. Well this week, I decided to get back into a solid running AND weights routine. I have been spot on all week so far and I am sore. I have MISSED BEING SORE!
I also decided to challenge myself to do 2 things each day.
1)Pray! I have been super slacking in conversing with God.
2)50 pushups a day. Either all at once or scattered, but 50 total.
So far so good!
How have you been?
I will get back to reading blogs and commenting today!
Have a great day!

Belated recap, horn tooting, and growling.
Sorry for the non Weekend Recap post yesterday. I went home with a stomach bug and just honestly didn't feel like recapping!
I am better today and back to business!
So for those curious....
WEEKEND RECAP!
Friday:
Extremely busy day at work! But I still got to get my run in when a patient cancelled. Love that!! I ran 4.25 miles in 41 min! I was pretty impressed with myself!(horn tooting)
I came home and we relaxed and spent QT with each other. Love!
Saturday:
I don't know about y'all but I am so much more productive in the morning. Clint woke up at 7:15am Saturday morning to me dusting the house. The funny thing is, I had already loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen, and folded laundry! I'm nuts, I know! But I am like that at work too! I can get most of my stuff done by mid-morning, so I have to pace myself!
When are you most productive??
We went to the gym, like every other Saturday. My training plan said to do a 5k, but I wanted to run farther. I am so competitive, especially with myself. I ended up running 6.32 miles in 60 min. I only walked 1 min. I finished with .2 cooling off. I have never ran than far consistently before and was SO proud of myself. Even better than Friday's horn tooting!! haha
After my stellar performance, I lifted.
Weights:
Upper body:2x10
Machine rows 70lbs
Reverse grip machine Lat Pull downs 80lbs
Flat bench, palms facing chest press, fly combo 15lbs
Palms turned in shoulder press 15lbs
Bicep curls 15lbs
Bicycles 2x30
Reverse crunch/hip lift 2x10
We went home and got ready to go run some errands (TJ MAXX, Babies R Us) before meeting friends out for Sushi. Yummmm
Sunday:
Horrible headache, so we skipped church. I started to feel a little better, so we headed to the grocery store. Under budget! Oh yeaaaaa! Came home and relaxed the rest of the day.
All in all, nothing too terribly exciting, but good!
Did you have a great weekend??
We are heading to the gym tonight. I might run at work if I can fit it in. I wasn't able to "mark off" yesterday's run on the training plan and that is bothering me.
Should I do 2 runs today to make up for yesterday and keep my Rest day Thursday
OR
Nix Rest day for the "Monday run"???
Thoughts????
Have a great Tuesday
Are you participating in Fat Tuesday???? How will you indulge???.
P.S. Ava's new things.............when she gets mad she grunts and balls her fists!! HILARIOUS Then yesterday when her and Clint got home, she started growling, yes growling! Again, HILARIOUS!! She is going to be a menace to society! hahaha She's a mess!! I wouldn't have it any other way!

Weekend recap Monday!
Monday mornings are starting to have a consistency in "Weekend Recaps". I guess I am going to have to continue that huh?!?
Did you have a great weekend??
Let's start with Friday!
Friday:
Had to fit in a workout at work. This does help out so much! There are only so many hours in the day and being able to fit this in is such a convenience!
Cardio:
3.35 miles on the treadmill in 33 minutes
Weights:
(using 15lb DBs and 10lb kettlebell)
SS- 2x20 Plie squat KB swings
2x20 Plie squat upright rows
2x10/arm Unilateral Incline chest press- DBs
2x10/leg Single leg squats to bench
2x10/arm Unilateral Shoulder press-DBs
2x1min Wall sits
After work we drop off our paperwork to get out taxes done and then headed off to my kind of fun. Book shopping. McKay's is my favorite store! I mean I light up when we get to go. McKay's is a used bookstore and you can take your books in and get store credit! It's is like FREE BOOKS. Usually the books you take in pays for the books you buy. This was one of the few times we actually had to pay out of pocket!
Then it was supper at Red Robin....yummmmmmmmmmmm! I ate very well and by that I mean i had some fab queso dip and chips! Total splurge for me! (and so worth it!)
Saturday:
I got up and took our dog, Daisy, to get her allergy and Rabies shot, went to the bank and post office. Errands for the day, done! Then it was GYM time! Clint played his usual Saturday Wally-ball and I jumped on the treadmill for my 6mile run! (vent-I hate that the mill starts counting down at 60min!) I got to about 5.39miles and had to pee so bad! I jumped off (literally) and ran to the bathroom, scaring the bejeezus out of one of the workers their who was cleaning a toilet! I almost peed my pants at this!!
I jumped back on the mill and finished my run.
6.42miles in 1hour 15 min (including potty break!)
I felt really good about this. My left hamstring has been giving me a wee-bit of trouble, so I went to stretch and FOAM ROLL! Love this! I need one!
After the gym, we went home to relax! Well, I did laundry, iced my hammie, we played with Ava, who by the way is CRAWLING! Yep, crawling. That little hobbit is going to be walking very soon, too soon for her mama!!! We made a wonderful supper of spinach pasta that was in the pantry(I just typed panty, ahaha) and put some ground turkey in some sauce. Toasted a baguette and called it done! So good!
Sunday:
Church!
Target-trash can, laundry detergent, trash bags.
O'Charley's for lunch.
Kroger for the week's odds and ends.
Home to finish up laundry, do some reading, family time and the best part. MAKING BABY FOOD!
Yes ma'am. I never in a million years thought we would be making our own baby food, but we purchased this Jewel! The BABY BULLET. It is the baby version of the Magic Bullet.

Source
It is sooooo easy and like "magic"! Ava had carrots Saturday night as a test run and last night we fed her avocado. We made enough for the week and saved a few servings, just using 2 avocados! Basically, you spend no more than an hour on a Sunday and prepare her food for a week or more! Yes, please!
We can give her so much more than a store sells. Excited is the word, especially Clint! I think more than me actually.
So, if you are already or thinking about making your own baby food, this is the product to get! I fully endorse it!
(Oh if you know a friend that is interested you can go in halves and split the buy one get one! That is what we did! It worked out perfectly!)
Alrighty, got to get to business at the job!
Look for my Monday night workout post tomorrow! Have a great day!!!

Good workouts, food, friends, & 1st
Ugh alas, it is Monday! It came way too quickly!!
Weekend recap:
Saturday:
I worked. Not fun being away from my 2 favorite faces. I did get to workout/run.
Weights:
15#DBs
Giant set:
4x10 Bicep Curls
4x10 Bent over rows
4x10 Shoulder Press
4x10 Laying chest press
Cardio:
5.15miles in 60 min. ( I felt really good in this run.)
I went home after and played with Clint and Ava and ate, of course! I was famished. Then we got ready to spend some time with one of my Best Friends that was in town.. She is pregnant and we are so excited. We always have a great time with her and her husband. They were staying at her mom and stepdad's house and Mama G made pasta, salad, bread, and apple cobbler. We brought wine! Yumm-oooo
Sunday:
-Church
-IHOP....did you know they have a new Simple and Fit area on their menu?? Yes please! I am on it!
I got the Whole Wheat French Toast Combo and it was just enough.
-COSTCOOOOOO! We LOVEEEE Costco. It had been a while since we had been, and boy did we make up for it! Our freezer and non-perishables are FULLY stocked again!
-Home for lounging around.
***Ava was standing on the couch looking outside holding on the the side and she lost her balance and plopped down on the Boppy pillow we had propped behind her in case of said balance losing. Do you know she PULLED HERSELF BACK UP! A few minutes later she plopped again and once again pulled back up!
She is going WAYYYYY to fast for her mama! I begged her to slow down, but she just giggled at me. Apparently she is an overachiever like her mama. Not necessarily a bad thing right?!?!
Have a great day!!

Half birthday and meeting gym again
Good Morning! I hope everyone is doing dandy and right as rain!
Yesterday was Ava's Half Birthday! Yep 6 months old! Sheesh, the time is flying. I feel like being pregnant with her lasted FOR.EVER, but her being here is whizzing by us!
Her achievements so far:
She is sitting up all by herself for long amounts of time.
..........rolling all over the place.
When she is on her belly, turning around in circles.
When she is sitting up, she has started to lean over and reach and last night she did that and pulled herself closer to me.
We have eaten cereal, green beans, and squash so far. Loves them all. She reaches up like a baby bird for the spoon. (next up is sweet potatoes and peas.)
Slobbering like a St. Bernard. Her teeth are right.there!
Saying "mmmmmmmma" and lights up when we say "daddy."
She is looking up in her carseat to "look" at whoever is driving the Murano.
Wow, she is growing so fast! I need to stop her!, Well, halt her a smidge at least! She has her 6 month check up next week, so we will see if the sugar monkey has grown and how much she weighs.

Healing magic
Good Thursday morning. We took Ava to her first Nashville Predators hockey game Tuesday night! Last year, we had partial season tickets, but this season that took a backseat for our new addition! Clint's work has a box and he got tickets for us to take Ava. Like Father like Daughter.
Poor thing FELL ASLEEP in the 3rd period. Who does that? hahaha We did leave early, don't worry. I am so glad she got to and will continue to experience this with Clint. He loves hockey. When we got together I had NO IDEA about hockey, but now I enjoy the game. Plus, it gives me something to share with him.
I officially have off of work until next Tuesday! My time off actually started yesterday. Ava had been kind of stuffy on Tuesday at my parent's house and she took 2 really long naps. (Clint's family was sick on Christmas Eve and as much as you try to clean hands and not pass germs, you can't keep them all away.) Her body seemed to be wore out. Yesterday morning, when she got up, bless her heart, had snot and crust all on her face where she sleeps on her belly. I immediately squeegied her nose with the "boogie getter." (I think we used this about 76 times yesterday.)

(WARNING.....going into mama talk mode.)
"Many doctors, researchers, and scientist agree that breast milk does appear to have healing properties that can prove beneficial when it comes to treating minor illnesses and injuries. This is because of the antibodies that breast milk contains. Just as breast milk provides your baby with necessary antibodies to fight off infection, it can also work to kill off bacteria and viruses when applied topically to problem areas.
Nevertheless, breast milk is probably not potent enough to completely kill off infections and other illnesses. Most health care providers do recommend that you seek traditional medical care for these problems, in order to ensure that they completely heal. However, two common illnesses that appear to be helped by the use of breast milk include pink eye and sore nipples."
So basically, the more I nurse her, the better off and faster she should get better. It seems to be working. I don't think it is a miracle drug, but I am an avid proponent that breastfeeding does help a sick baby as well as a healthy baby.
Ava truly is an amazing baby! Even though she is snotty and crusty, she is still all smiles and happy as a clam. At least, we have the next 5 days together to get her better. Although, my throat started hurting last night, ugh!!! That is typically a prerequisite to getting a cold for me. Hopefully, I can ward it off. She is sleeping in her swing right now. We are going to stay in again today to try to get her over this completely. No Spin class last night! I didn't want to leave her and didn't want to take her to kidcare. We will see about tonight though.
Are you off of work yet for the week??

Source Since I only had two patients yesterday and my mom would be taking Ava to my sister's wisdom teeth surgery, we decided that I would stay home and not get her out. It was a great decision. We stayed in our Jammies all day and I loved on her like a mama does. I did give her some
She sucked it right up. Although, the meds will help some, I think I am her best medicine. I don't say thay because I am Super mama. I say that because breastmilk has a healing effect.
According to pregnancy-info.net,
Does Breast Milk Really Heal?

Spin, cereal, Eclipse(in that order)
Oh Friday, you couldn't come soon enough. This week was soooo busy. Tomorrow is my Saturday to work. I only have a couple of patient's so it won't be too bad.
Last night we went to the gym and I decided to try the Thursday night spin class. I was kind of leery/nervous about taking a new teacher/class. I have been comfortable with the Wednesday night class/teacher.
It is amazing how different teachers can be. This lady is all of 87lbs(ok exaggeration). I have seen her around the gym, but had no idea she was the teacher. Her class was hard but in a different way. We took a lot more breaks than in any other class I have taken and I didn't sweat buckets. We "hovered" until her heart was content and my legs were spent. My legs sure were tired by the end of the class, but weirdly enough I was sad I didn't sweat that much. We finished the class with some abs and that was a love/hate situation, let me tell ya. My abs aren't sore(yet), but we they were worked for sure. This is where I got uncomfortable. We started stretching to finish off the class. Now, I am all for stretching, but the area where spin class is is surrounded by mirrors and the mirrors can be seen from many angles. These angles are where "testosterone island" is. So, they can clearly see the class. We started stretching and the stretches I thought were a little um, how do I put it.....seductive?! I do not like to draw that type of attention, well from Clint, but not other men. I kind of "attempted" the stretches and counted down the seconds until I could get the heck out of dodge. That part just wasn't my thing.
I was telling Clint about it after and he said, "yeah the guys were all watching y'all!" (Great!) I liked the teacher and if need be will take her class again, BUT I prefer the Wednesday night class/teacher. She is more my style and she makes me work hard. You live and learn huh.
We decided to try and give Ava cereal for the 1st time last night. We gave her
with breastmilk. Our doctor said to feed her breastmilk(one boob), then halfway through her feeding to give her the cereal. Then finish up(the other boob) with breastmilk.
She really enjoyed it. I mean as far as we could tell. She even grabbed the spoon from Clint at one point and stuck it in her mouth, haha. She is growing up so fast. All in all it was a great 1st time experience for her and Clint and I.
So, how do I feel about it? Honestly, I was happy and sad at the same time. We will continue to add to her diet from now on(steadily and one new food/texture at a time), but I am not her sole food provider any more. I have taken such a serious stance to keeping my self nourished and healthy so I could provide the best for Ava through breastmilk. Yes, the majority of her nutrition will be breastmilk, but this is the start of something new. A new stage. She is growing up and changing. (for the better) I am happy for her and how healthy and happy she is, but a small piece of my heart is sad. This is how life goes and Lord knows there will be hard things we have to deal with, but for yesterday these were my feelings about feeding her cereal.
*Today, I am ok with everything. Not so sad.
Moving on. Clint picked up
from the Redbox. My review. It was better than the 1st movie by far. As mush as other people enjoy the movies, I am not a fan. I prefer the books and my imagination in this case. I honestly do not think Robert Patterson or Kristen Stewart are good actors. If it was up to me, I would have pick better. All in all, it was a pretty good movie and kept my attention.
Have you seen it or any of the Twilight saga? What did you think?
Have a great FRIDAY!!!

Football and a tutu
Happy November 6th. Holy guacamole! Where has this year gone? Turkey day is in less than 3 weeks. My sweet Ava Quinn let mama sleep in until 5:15am this morning. It was glorious! How funny is that? I used to be (in college) the one that slept in until noon without a seconf thought. Now I am excited to sleep in until 5ish am instead of 4:30am. Boy how times have changed. I think I like getting up early better than sleeping in. By noon this morning I had fed Ava, ate breakfast, folded laundry, cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed the house, swept the floors, went to the gym, and took a shower. I can definitely get more accomplished than the old me. I like this version of me!!
So about the gym. I was so excited about getting a spin/abs class in. Especially since I have missed out on some good workouts because I have been sick. I am not 100%, but feel tons better than I did. Kid care at our gym starts at 9am and the class was at 9:30am. I decided to get arms done before since I had some time to kill.
Superset
-Decline chest press with inward turns 3x10 20lb DB
-Standing rows 3x10 20lb DB
Superset
-Standing Alternating Bicep curls 3x6 20lb DB
-Standing Shoulder press 3x5 20lb DB (these were Harrrdddd!)
For some reason I decided to check the schedule of classes. The class at 9:30am was CHISEL, not CYCLE. CYCLE wasn't until 10:30am!!!!!!!!!! Horse CRAAAAAAAAAPP! That really chafed my hide! Now what?!?! Ok back up and punt. Cardio, until I can decide what to do.
Cardio:
Elliptical- Fat burn 20 minutes
Ok since I have already done arms, might as well do legs right?
Legs:
Giant sets with 50lb Barbell
-Good Mornings 3x10
-Squats 3x10
-Plie Squats 3x10
-Right leg stationary lunge 3x10
-Left leg stationary lunge 3x10
I called it a day and went to sit in the sauna to try and clear out my nasal passages and read a magazing while I waited on Clint to finish playing Wallyball. Oh yes, there is an American Wallyball Association. It is not my thing, but everyone who comes out is sweating buckets and is sore the next day. Whatever rocks your world!
Moving on. We came home and showered to get ready for Ava's 3 month pictures!!! Plus some family photos. They were a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e! She did so great. When it was time to go she let us know! It was so funny because she got fussy and fell asleep. Once we got home (it was only a 5 minute drive home) she was bright eyed and bushy tailed. What a faker! haha
We have to wait about 2 weeks to see them, but for a tease she had one of these as an outfit.
I can't wait to see them. Our family photos will more than likely be our very 1st Ferrell Christmas card. So exciting. Do you do Christmas cards?

Not looking forward to today.
We went to Hilton Head, SC this past weekend (9 hours away) for a seminar for my new job. I start this new job today. I will be working part time for the next 2 weeks and then go full time. I cried all day yesterday.
My mom is going to be keeping Ava and we are so grateful that she is doing this. Daycare is crazy expensive and we know she will be loved, given plenty of attention, and get sick less. So, this is the best option, even though I have my reservations.
It is bitter sweet going back to work. I am so excited to start this new job. This is the area of health that I have changed to, NeuroCore Therapy. It is so amazing and challenging. I needed to be challenged and this fit the bill. I will also be personal training the clients who are in the weight loss portion of the therapy. I took maternity leave 3 weeks before Ava was born, because I was miserable and the doctor said I could go "any day!" Well, 3 weeks later.... I have had 7 weeks off of work and I am ready to contribute financially again. Clint has told me that I don't have to go back to work, that I can stay home with Ava. We could do it financially, but we would be penny pinching and struggling at times and I already worry too much, I can't imagine my stress level with legitimate financially concerns. So, as much as I don't want to leave my precious girl, it is what I feel that I need to do.
I am not looking forward to dropping her off at my parents. I will probably cry all the way to work and when I talk to Clint on the phone and when I call my mom to check on her. It is the nature of the beast as a full time working mama.
Wish me luck today!
How did/are you going to cope with going back to work??
Here are some pics from Hilton Head Island this weekend. My heart is so full of love for these two!

Ava's 1st doctor visit
Yesterday, we took Ava for her 1st visit to see Dr. N. We really didn't know what to expect at the visit. We had met Dr. N in the hospital when he came to check on her each morning and we really liked him. We didn't do an interview with Dr. N, but a friend at church gave him very high regards and we trusted her judgment. We were not disappointed. He treats us and Ava like people and not just another patient to get in and out of the office.
We sat in the newborn waiting area until we, well Ava, was called back. The nurse took us to the room and started asking us questions about the delivery, if we are breastfeeding or bottle feeding, (I am breastfeeding.), how many pees and poops she is having a day, any concerns, and a few more questions about Ava. We took her adorable outfit off and got her down to her diaper and they weighed her in at 7lbs, 4oz. Remembering that scales can be off some, she has lost 7oz from her 7lbs, 11oz birth weight. This loss of weight is normal since I am breastfeeding and my milk just came in completely today. Her length was recorded as well as her head circumference. We went back to the room and waited for Dr. N. He came in about 15 minutes later and looked at her color, which is good, checked her heartbeat and pulse, felt of her tummy, and looked at her belly button. Everything he checked was good.
Whew, relief. We have noticed that for us, there is always that concern about htings going on with her and just want confirmation that everything is healthy for her.
We go back to see Dr. N at Ava's 2 week birthday, which is next Saturday, but we will go that Monday morning.
Ava's 1st
I hope everyone's weekend has been great. Ours has been pretty good. After work, Clint and I went to McKay's, which is my FAVORITE bookstore ever. You can buy, sell, and trade all sorts of things like books, DVD's, video games, etc. I have gotten to where I go when I have books to sell back and shop while I'm there. They give you so much money in trade and it is like Monopoly money. I haven't had to actually purchase a book from there in a long time. It is the best thing ever.
Anyway, I was looking for Clint and found him in the Golden Books section looking through books for Ava. It melted my heart. He isn't that big of a reader like I am. (I never leave home without a book! Even if I am going to the grocery.) We got a few books for her and her mama =). Clint read her her 1st (in the womb) book last night. It's one of my fave's. I have such an amazing husband.
Do you remember your favorite golden book????
